God forbid they should create an original IP.
Edit: I haven't played BG3 (yet), but I'm truly sorry for all of you that have fallen in love with it. It sucks that there won't be any more content or a follow up game from Larian.
@mlnevese @Black Elk
I finished the Fallout series last night, and quite liked it. I have never played the games, other than a brief attempt at 3 (I had to stop 10 minutes in as first-person makes me motion sick). Would you say that the series is faithful to one of the games in particular? Or...
Hi all,
I hope everyone is doing well. Due to RL, I have not been gaming or on social media much, but I did start a game of BG fairly recently, which I'm chipping away at. And I just discovered that I did a really silly thing: I lost a set of full plate armour (the set you get at the bandit...
I laughed aloud when I read this. The appropriate question for me would be 'has anything not bothered you at work lately?'
I sympathize with all of you, and am not shy about saying that my 'career' has been an exercise in sheer futility and sand pounding frustration. Underemployed? Check. Under...
I still haven’t played Fallout, but I suspect I might like it with its isometric perspective. Is there an enhanced version that plays nice with modern computers, or do you have to MacGyver it with mods to get it running?
IMO that party is just fine for Durlag’s. If you want two front-liners, you’ve got them: all three warriors mentioned can tank just fine. Imoen and Safana can handle the archery, and you have arcane and (admittedly minimal) divine support.
And great job on the narrative! I’m really enjoying this.
In the old days I'd have gotten boots on the ground; I'd have put signs on lawns; I'd have driven people to the polls. But what with the internet...
In seriousness (as far as gaming can be serious), I hope you have a great run. Cleric/wild mage sounds like a unique build and rp opportunity. Enjoy!
You folks are so much more interesting than me, what with your varied gaming repertoires. I only ever play the BG games anymore, and I haven't even done much of that this fall/winter, due to some really crappy stuff that happened. Having said that, it's probably time to roll a blackguard, being...
There are hints of new games, as @Antimatter has alluded to, so one assumes there would have been a provisional contract of some sort.
That would truly be a disaster. Let’s hope Hasbro/WoTC are at least smart enough to understand that. Larian is the goose that laid the golden egg here.
@Zaxares I had a feeling that would be the case. It seems that the stupidity of management defies comprehension more often than not. Couple that with greed and the erosion of antitrust law and enforcement, and we have a world that's going to hell.
I assume there will still be a new game, as the Larian/D&D formula looks like a licence to print money. There will just be fewer people to work on it from the Wizards end, thanks to this heart-warming decision by Hasbro - right before Christmas, no less.
@Antimatter That's terrible. I think this forum needs a 'sad' reaction button.
Is this one of those layoffs that's really about maintaining grotesque profit margins, rather than maintaining solvency?
