Happy BG3 Day everyone! Does anyone have tips to recommend for beginners to get through the Druid class? (unless its not recommended at all) Heard its not very newbie friendly (Druid Wiki)
I haven't played as a druid yet, but you need to put 16 points in your Wisdom, obviously, and focus on either Constitution or Dexterity for another 16. Put everything else as you see fit. You'll start at lvl 1 and will slowly get to know the game from one level to another, so actual neat features of the druid class, e.g. shapeshifting or picking a subclass, will happen later in the game. It's a friendly class for new users as you'll be able to talk to animals in this game, and talking to animals is a big deal.

I started as a druid, and haven't had any trouble yet in the short time I have played the game. Not sure that helps much though... One thing I did like about my druid was that she had access to a spell which helped grab loot during a timed battle near the end of the prologue.

Druids may be a little tricky. Choice of spells and deciding when it's better to shapeshift, for instance. But the only way to learn is playing one so go for it and you have doubts just ask them here or open a new thread :)

The 'talking to animals' is definitely the main factor that drew me in! Thanks for this. There need to be more existing step-by-step intro tips somewhere cause some build guides are still hard to follow ><

Thats great! Hopefully, the game goes easy on me. A friend of mine said this will be great introduction to the DND universe

Druids are fun! You can do practically anything as a Druid. Wanna go full caster? Druid spells are some of the most unique spells in the game, and in 5E in general! Wanna play a tank? Circle of the Moon shapeshifting can give you that! Wanna make a bunch of undead minions? Circle of Spores makes you a better necromancer than an actual necromancer (at least at lower levels, which is most of the game)! I’d argue that druids are great for beginners, as they can support any play style.

Love that! thanks for the encouragement. So nice to see such positive feedback especially since I rarely see Druid as one of the top picks when I read through everyone's anticipated choices before the game came out.

I'm actually quite impressed with how well the game is running on my 5-year old machine (with an nVidia GeForce 1080 GTX), although I think that as I get further out into the world and take on bigger battles, the strain will start to show. I might have to consider an upgrade soon. XD

So yeah, I reached Chapter 1 (wooooo!) and I definitely do need to upgrade my machine. :/ It struggled to load all the textures in time for the cinematics during the Nautiloid crash so during this one part where it showed a bunch of goblins running across a bridge, the bridge textures couldn't load fast enough and the goblins were just running across thin air. :p Time to start looking up PC parts, I guess! Hopefully by now graphics card prices have returned to normal after the stupid cryptocurrency craze.

As long as you don't go for the latest tech, you should find them at a reasonable price.

Did you try to switch between Vulcan and Direct 11? I have a I7-9750h, 16gb RAM, GTX 1660Ti (6gb), SSD driver, I'm playing on mix of Ultra and High, and I have those texture loading issues just occasionally (almost never). In fact it runs surprisingly great on my 2019 laptop.

I switched to DX11 right from the start since I heard that Vulkan was only suitable for more recent graphics cards. Generally, I don't experience many texture loading issues either, but I don't want the experience to be ruined by it (especially once I reach Baldur's Gate and there'll be a LOT more NPCs moving around.)

I play on Vulcan on my old GTX 1660Ti without any issues whatsoever. Maybe it's worth checking, if it improves the experience for you?

Yeap I was using Vulkan on my RTX 2060 but DirectX looks much better and uses the ray tracing capabilities of the RTX series.

If you’ve saved since updating, you won’t be able to load those saves until we’ve re-published Hotfix 4. Sorry about the inconvenience.

another reason to wait :) sorry friends
