Something like Fire Emblem would be cool, I think but idk if you'll finish anything before BG3 releases HAHA. Octopath Traveler is also another gem, I haven't tried it yet personally but I know it's supposed to be amazing!
I haven't played the Early Access version of BG3, but while the combat rules are D&D based, I don't think you need to play something to "ease into turn-based combat" first if you have played DOS2.
D:OS EE and D:OS2 were the only turn-based RPGs I have played before, and from what I've seen in videos, the BG3 combat, while following different rules, should look and feel familiar enough.
If you want to start with smaller games, I believe I saw Solasta: Crown of the Magister on Game Pass It's by a much smaller studio, Tactical Adventures, but it's also a turn-based RPG and uses the 5e ruleset too. Since it's been out a while, a few DLCs have already come out too, if you end up liking it!
Wildermyth is also loosely based on the D&D ruleset (couldn't tell you which edition, but probably none, given the loose association). It's a great game to get into the turn-based genre!
