I would like to know which Weidu is right for me.

I have just been on the Weidu Page to get Weidu for my installation. Apparenly 32bit is no good ahd that is what is supplied with DLC merger. :( .

Unfortunately the page is written in Geek-speak, a language in which I am not familiar.

My computer is a Windows 10 one.
Should I use a: WeiDU-Windows-amd64.zip
b: WeiDU-Windows-x86.zip

I think that the other options are incorrect.

Do I just drop the Weidu.exe in my installation directory before running Weidu mods?

I just added a bit to the OP. I got a comment when running DLC merger that the Win32 version was no good, so it skipped the merger. I therefore went on the Weidu page that is clearly written with modders in view. There were a number of versions available.

Have you tried to copy the exe file from other mod (like SCS) and rename it with DLC Merger name? Executable files of each WeiDU mod are just a WeiDU itself. I believe SCS currently uses v247, which I believe is 64 bit only.

Windows 10 (a 64bit system) should run 32bit apps just fine. It's only the opposite that doesn't work: i.e. running a 64bit app on a 32bit system.

So my guess is the issue can be fixed by a proper reinstall of everything.

Remember, the DLC merger is only needed for BG:EE+SoD purchased from GOG and Steam (it's not needed for BGII:EE or for BG:EE, or for BG:EE+SoD purchased not from GOG and Steam).

When I installed the DLC merger just this month, it ran ok on my Windows 10. Make sure to remove all the remnants of your previous installs (especially the override file) and start anew.

You don't need to drop any additional Weidu.exe files before running Weidu mods.

Eg. you run:

Setup-DLCMerger.exe
setup-stratagems.exe
etc

Thanks. I'll do that.

I did a fresh installation having deleted everything in the folder after uninstalling the game.
I ran the DLC Merger and got this at the end. Is everything OK

Thr first mod installs fine but when I try to install the second it hangs as below. However if I close the installer and try and install again it appears to install OK.

??????????? Somethinng appears to be wrong but what?? It appears to me that Gog is changing things. Should I uninstall Gog Galaxy?

A prerequisite for any weidu mod to work is that you have really a clean version of a game prior to starting the installation. Weidu as such will always auto-update to the highest version it finds in your files and that overwrites lower versions.

Are you sure that you indeed have a clean version? Just uninstalling via the Galaxy is not enough for that. Most likely @Urdnot_Wrex is spot on regarding the remaining files.

It's very hard to help @WiseGrimwald without looking at all your game files but I think the issue might be happening because of that: maybe you had an old folder sod-dlc, anything in the override folder, etc.

I also think the path to the folder you have: Baldur's Gate-EE\Baldur's GateII-EnhancedEdition\Baldur's Gate-EnhancedEdition is a bit confusing and while it shouldn't be an issue itself, it might indicate there is some file mix in the works. Did you unpack or install anything manually into this particular folder before?

I completely deleted the overide folder prior to installation. What I found was happening after installation was that files from the cloud from a previous installation were being downloaded without me asking. This could have affected things. I therefore uninstalled Galaxy and redownloaded the game files for an installation that won't have access to the web. I'll try again in the morning as it is time that I was in bed. Installing while tired is a bad idea.
I no longer have Galaxy installed so it can no longer affect my installation.

Yes, this sounds like a possible reason. Hope it fixes the issue for you.
I have discovered that my problem is with the BGQE files. That was the first mod that I installed and subsequent mods wouldn't install properly. I took that out of the installation and everything else installed fine. Put it back in and the problem re-emerged. :( I can live without that mod but will post a bug report with G3.
