Amanda made her way up the tower, freeing some cursed channelers and evolving Avery along the way, until finally she reached the top. After beating the Rocket members, she talks to Mr. Fuji, who escorts her back outside. At his house, he gives her the Poké Flute. Now she can get rid of those pesky Snorlax that are blocking the way to Fuchsia City.
Speaking of Snorlax, there was one just to the south, on Route 12. Seeing as how there was no grass in sight, Amanda battled it with the intention of catching it. Thanks to Channing’a Dragon Rage, she succeeded.
Route 12= Snorlax
Nissie joined the team, replacing Hulk. At long last, the monkey could relax. He performed exceptionally well, but Fighting-types aren’t particularly useful for the later half of the game. Furthermore, Nissie can learn Shadow Ball from a TM, and has a great Attack stat with which she can use it, so that makes her the team’s new Psychic-type killer.
Now comes the gauntlet of trainers that makes its home on this stretch of road between Lavender Town and Fuchsia City. This stretch can really be rough on the team’s stamina (specifically their moves’ PP).
As a side note, this is also when the game gets pretty serious, at least as far as levels go. The next two gyms will require some grinding before the team is ready for them.
