I've been taking a step back from Pathfinder and returned to one of my all time favourite mods and games: OlvynChuru's Icewind Dale Difficulty Mod.
What is it?
Do you ever find yourself wishing the Icewind dale enemies would use HLAs at level 10 and spam nasty CC and dispel magic at you? If so, read on.
Icewind Dale is a combat focused gauntlet of ever increasingly difficult combats. It is the closest the infinity engine got to a 10/10 dungeon crawler. It is 95% combat focused. However it does lack for encounter variety and difficulty, and the EE has made the game considerably easier than the original release by introducing classes and kits from BG2. Enter OlvynChuru's Icewind Dale Heart of Fury Difficulty Mod, a mod which beats you over the head until dead, without having the absurd AC and thac0 bonuses of original HoF mode.
It could be best described as SCS meets Improved Anvil - with the best of both. Much harder than SCS but without the baggage that comes with IA, or the true specificity of encounter counters which makes IA a masochist nightmare.
New items, revised kits and enemies with wild abilities. Prepare to die.

Icewind Dale just isn't the same without it these days.

Beamdog Forums - [MOD] Improved Heart of Fury Mode Version 4.2.0
Icewind Dale's Heart of Fury Mode was meant to be an "ultimate difficulty mode," but it wasn't very well executed.
