Stumbled upon a new article by PC Gamer about WotC and many D&D-related details, a good (but sad) read:

It's clear Hasbro, the custodians of D&D, have no idea what to do with Baldur's Gate 3's success—but that's nothing new, it's spent the past 10 years fumbling the bag

The instant collapse of Sigil is just the latest in a long line of missed opportunities and self-inflicted wounds.

Same. I'm just not interested in the other things on offer really. Striking while the iron was hot would have been... split the party and have half the team knock out an expansion to BG3 ala Tales of the Sword coast redux? So like another lvl 1-12 adventure that feeds into the already existing main campaign, with like 2 new companions, one hero, one villain, that sort of thing. Raise the lvl cap to some limited version of the lvl 13 spells and abilities, and do challenges via the already built-in Withers scheme and achievements. That would have come out at the same time that Stranger Things was ending, so instead of pining after hidden finales, they'd have just gotten more BG3. Everyone would have been happy hehe. Mods are probably coming out but that's not really the same. Alas
