Does anybody know anything about Nirel?

I have come across these two items and thought that acuallly playing Nirel as a character could be interestiing. What is said on the item descriptions made me think a drow cleric of Shar.
That would mean that I could have Viconia in a drow party which had Nirel in it.

Clearly I will equip him with these boots and the mace, With the drow 50% magic resistance as per Viconia, wearing the boots would make him impervious to magic as per the description.

What innate spells would a cleric of Shar be likely to have? [I have discovered that they could summon shadows. I'll have to see if I can add that spell through keeper.]

EDIT I discovered that you can't! :(

I Googled Nirel bu found nothing. :(

Cleric of Shar... if you can't customize a kit with NI or some such, you could take a look at one of the cleric mods. IIRC, there was one called Faiths and Powers. And DavidW, the author of SCS, was working on a mod called Talents of Faerun, though I'm not sure if it ever got out of beta.

Out of curiosity, in which game did you find those items? SOD? Or a mod?

They were in Durlag's Tower. They come from Dark Side of the Sword Coast: Some of the very few powerful items made specifically for evil characters.

I was thinking about the details of Nirel and realised that the description of him are deliberately left vague, an invitation to let your imagination run wild.

I don't fancy doing a fresh installation at the moment, but will certainly think about including that mod next time.

The mod Deities of Faerûn also introduces a kit for clerics of Shar. I don't know which is the better mod. They are NOT compatible.

It seems to be a better mod, but you need to know that clerics might not be able to use plate armour.

Faiths & Powers is another possibility.

Interesting. To be honest, I don't know how good any of them are as I've never tried them. But I thought I'd mention them.

My own feeling now is that I try to avoid mods as much as possible because I find there are just too many bugs. I keep my installs light and with the essentials. In the BG games that was basically Tweaks and SCS. The occasional NPC or quest mod here or there.

I understand where you are coming from.
However, I would like the clerics of different gods to have different attributes. In the past I have installed one of the above, but forget which it was. What I found annoying was the inability of clerics to wear the best armour.
I am going to play the game with my existing mods, but have given Nirel his boots and mace. It may overpower him to a certain extent, but then the item describes him as being very powerful.
Playing him will be a one-off which could be fun.
