Orrin, human archer: Part 1 - Assembling the Team
"It's not a picture of my family - it's the A-team!"
With apologies to Nessa, we smuggled Drepin's antidote potion from Candlekeep inside Orrin's bag, confident that he'll be able to procure a replacement from the local temple. I have a soft...

Okay, so I knew that my crew is late to the party, I just haven't realized how late. It's 2 am in Athkatla and Alena's party is celebrating their exploits in the Bridge District - there's an open tap at Five Flagons and an ongoing moshpit at the theater stage, while Shakira's Laundry Service is...
I concur with the others that the SCS Insect Plague spell failure is not guaranteed due to above mentioned mitigants/protections (even though I'm not sure to which extent the spell failure effect is linked to the actual ticking damage, i.e. whether Stoneskins or PfNW will stop it, but there's...
@Alesia_BH I've been eagerly awaiting every new post like it was my fave TV series! It's amazing how an old game can be brought into life through this format and your narrative. I love the crew and I was relieved to see them pull through that Suna Seni encounter (Alena's got nerves of steel)...
Oops!
Ok, I admit that looks like a run. And it actually is a run. It's been quite refreshing and entertaining so far. My only concern right now is that I might not be able to continue playing for at least next week or so and I'd hate to abandon it completely. I'll try to post some of the...
Correct, it was SCS v34 (sans the component that you've mentioned), although I wouldn't say that this is an issue with the install/mods - the mere fact that SCS wizards on Insane are prone to (and I'd say much more frequently than their Hardcore counterparts) toss sequencers loaded up with...
@Alesia_BH I'm curious to ask - how do you find the party playthrough in terms of the fun factor or, more precisely, the game fatigue risk? I've always considered you as primarily a solo player, which the style where I also feel most at home. Now I've been thinking about trying something...
Hey friends!
It's great to see my favorite corner of the Internet active again :). I'll likely remain in the spectator mode for now, but I can tell that the itch to start a new run is certainly there, so let's see. In the meantime, I'll keep cheering for our active contenders!
I also owe you...
Xanthi, human barbarian: Early Days
Xanthi's progress has been swift. She's like Mr Wolf from Pulp Fiction - she thinks fast, she talks fast, and she needs people around her to act fast if they wanna keep up. And I'm lagging behind, at least insofar as the coverage of the run is concerned...

I've just tested it and you're right - I never knew that the impact of level drain on saves is so significant and I had always assumed that it only reverts any level-based reductions (whereby bards hit the last milestone at L21).
Saving throws at L39:
Reduced saves at L34:
The hypothesis...
Sorsha, human bard: Part 43
With a heavy heart, I'm due to report that Sorsha has perished during the first Pocket Plane challenge in ToB. It's a shame, especially since the initial fight with Illasera went smoothly (in fact almost too smoothly). But what's worse, is that I don't know what...
Sorsha, human bard: Part 42 - continued
Our adversary was furious. He activated a barbaric spell trigger of IH and two Fireshields, clearly preparing to crush Sorsha in melee when his magic failed.
But Sorsha could outrun him and he seemed to hesitate - that gave us the opportunity to lay down...
Sorsha, human bard: Part 42 - continued
Suddenly, Jon hit us with PW: Blind.
At the moment I wasn't sure if this was due to our Improved Invisibility expiring or due to the fact that PW: Blind can bypass it (due to its small AoE effect). The first option seemed improbable - we still had our...
Sorsha, human bard: Part 42
Preparing for the showdown with Irenicus for the first time in my no-reloading career certainly got my hands sweaty. In fact, we could have had finished the whole thing (with whatever result that might be) in the same session as the Tree Jon, but I just lost the...
Sorsha, human bard: Part 41
Our fight with the Tree Jon had only one technical hiccup, which was me not expecting that you get teleported to him once you kill the last parasite. Note taken. With our buffs incomplete, we first tried to buy some time by laying down a Time Trap - it came too late...
