That's definitely quite a rude way to get a run ended, feel sad about that. Nonetheless this was very valuable experience, thanks for sharing it!
Myself spent quite a number of days just to fine-tune my Crew builds (poring over a vast number of sources) and very little to play the game itself...
Yep, Invisibily, Greater helps a lot vs those sky-high AC values. Or Glitterdust if it connects. I have Nenio write scrolls of Invisibility, Greater for my damage dealers (who in turn develop UMD skill). Later on you can protect it with Mind Blank spell which cancels True Seeing. It does not...
You're welcome :) I agree, that guide and the whole run is what I was looking for for a long time. And also worth noting that your opponents in the game can't do a 5 ft. step, so by doing so you not only evade an AoO but your opponents need to use MOVE action to engage you again and thus can't...
Well done there! I'm glad my suggestions were somewhat useful :)
Since, as it seems, you are not against reading some guides (watching youtube) I would recommend you to check out this full Unfair playthrough with Sadistic Game Design (severely limited number of rests). He has so many useful...
Make a lot of sense! My builds are mostly a theorycrafting via Inevitable Excess DLC at the moment since I've never been past the Drezen... :D All of them already suffered a lot of tweaks even in that state. And I'm sure there will be a lot more! No one can gain a perfection... :D I'm trying to...
Isn't it better to have second school (Enchantment) via Mythic Expanded Arsenal and spent those two feats on something like Dispel line of feats or more Metamagic feats? Personally I tend to spend main feats for (Greater) Spell Focus on one school and get more schools via Mythic progression.
My...
I was there several times (on Hard) but not once on Unfair yet. My usual approach with Sylvan Sorcerer is to get Corruptor on Mythic 1 and Stinking Cloud as first level 3 spell. I also let Nenio write it in her book, purchase Scroll Scribing Kit III and write Stinking Cloud scrolls with her at...
Well, for Sylvan Sorcerer or any other spontaneous caster like Oracle all metamagic-infused spells take full-round for cast and that's a huge difference. You can't cast it during current round if you need to move even slightly to position it carefully, so if you move, then you can cast...
Got it, thanks! With 'XP share OFF' you can get level 4 in the inn (if cleared 100% of Shield Maze) just after talking around and join with Woljif. The whole level difference!
Actually, on RP grounds I always take other responses, which grants you completely useless buff vs neutral opponents...
Why? You only have one of those (move/5 ft. step or attack) during surprize round but in the following rounds you can make 1 swift action (like Smite Evil/Chaos), 1 move action (or 5 ft. step, which is VERY helpful and only availible in TB mode), 1 standard action (attack or cast regular spell)...
BTW, @Antimatter, I'm curious if you cleared the 100% of Shield Maze with your current Sylvan Sorcerer and if there is enough exp out there to get level 3 without 'XP sharing OFF' before leaving into the Gray Garrison?
I'm actually restarted my Magic Deceiver, slightly tweaking him with Acolyte...
Congrats on dealing with Nabasu! Bless Weapon is indeed amazing, too bad it's only availible for Paladins (who I don't like at all, Seelah switches to other classes right at level 2). It's also very handy later on in Gargoyles' cave fight. Aside from potions from innkeeper there are also some...
Both modes have their pros and cons, sure, but not being able to take off items from quick slots (like in PoE) alone with other equipment like armor/rings etc. is clear 'fair play' for me. I never liked an unrealistic approach of BG players, when they switch gear like armor/boots/weapons or...
I would recommend you to try turn-based combat at least for those hard encounters. It's much more manageble and if you can utilize a surprize round then at least for this whole round you'll target a much lower flat-footed AC which is a huge difference. And if some of your characters win an...
You don't need level 5 to beat all those strong opponents or cast resistance vs elements (communal) from your books. I always buy scrolls of protection/resistance vs acid (alchemist), electricity (kineticist, Tower of Estrod), cold (shadow demon), fire (Tower of Estrod, brimorak). My first goal...
I'm curious what areas you've cleared before Tavern Defense? Because in my case I always have 5 levels under my belt at that moment and it's easier dramatically. No damage to tavern defenses at all and I even have a "Truly Important Deed" achievement (got it on Hard difficulty) - save all...
Thanks! :)
And you have quite an interesting crew there as well! It will be nice to follow their adventure. The only thing I'm missing there is a lack of domains users which I personally think as a must have for unfair run.
OK, task #1 is done (Kenabres Caves) no-reload up to Small Earth Elementals (all else is cleared) who at first try killed Lann since I started surprize round with him and that's game over. At second attempt I started surprize round with Seelah using Demoralize so elementals focus her instead...
Nope, the map is not mine. I've borrowed it somewhere in the Web looking for the tips on playing Unfair difficulty.
As for XP sharing here - I don't think it's quite the same as playing solo BG/SoA since it stop being useful the moment you'll gather a full party (and I always play full parties)...
If you need to somewhat easy the pain/frustration of early unfair run then you might want/need to (ab)use the 'Only active companions receive experience' switch in difficulty settings. Turn it 'On' unless you have the full six members party (and turn it 'Off' in the join new NPC dialog right...
