The years of being stuck in early access hell must have taken their toll. I can’t say I blame ‘em for wanting to do something else.

I usually don’t go any higher than normal difficulty on any game. As far as I’m concerned, normal is as balanced as the game is going to get. I don’t think lower or higher difficulties are bad, though, as long as the player is having fun.

Being able to play the game again was the main draw for me. That, and I was interested in the new content. Most of the new stuff ended up not really getting me hooked, but the base game is still good.

One thing I like about these threads is how they point to new indie titles I wouldn’t have otherwise seen.
