So Crimson failed as a no reload attempt, but I enjoyed playing her so much here's a Minimal Reload Run...In Character (Mostly)

AN: Crimson starts the proceedings by forcing a chest open with her fist

Gorion was right! It isn't safe here, though my would be assassin ate an axe to the face before he could even utter a word. Did they think I wouldn't notice someone out of place? A man wielding a dagger in a peaceful library is asking for trouble. So this is my first kill. It feels....good. Better than I expected. Almost frighteningly so. Perhaps this is something Gorion can shed some light on?

AN: There is plenty more as I'm deep into Chapter 3 but I'm starting to feel very tired so that's all for tonight folks.

This one's bloody

Or perhaps not, Gorion is dead! Felled by some imposing figure in spiked armor. As much as it pains me to say this I'm going to miss the old fool and whoever took him from me shall face a painful demise.

No sooner had I left Gorion's body than I was accosted by Imoen. Bah, Useless Girl! Where were you when Gorion was having his lungs penetrated with a greatsword? Nevertheless I allowed the girl to follow me and on our way to the Friendly Arm we also picked up a gibbering madman named Xzar and his companion Montaron and received some advice from a man who bore a striking resemblance to Elminster.

If this really Elminster than I am no fool, I do not wish to cross him.

Must I be interrupted at every turn! Just outside the Friendly Arm we found ourselves attacked by at least half a dozen bandits (most likely more) and all of my companions were skewered by arrows. I soon found myself consumed by bloodlust and quickly killed and mutilated every single one of the bandits and took their scalps. Perhaps somebody will purchase them? No doubt I was not the only one ambushed by bandits along the Coast Way

I discarded the useless bodies of Imoen and Xzar but allowed Montaron to be resurrected thinking that perhaps an assassin would be of use to me. It seems I was mistaken, I hadn't even made it to the door of the Friendly Arm before I was attacked by yet another assassin and Montaron proved useless once again. You had your chance halfling, rot with the rest of them.
Baldr010.png

I found Gorion's friends: A preachy tree hugger named Jaheria and her insolent whelp of a husband Khalid. Still, they appear to be able to fight and I *am* in need of a few healing spells so I'll allow them to accompany me.

Whilst looking for work, I found a dwarf woman named Unshey who asked me to retrieve a belt of hers that was stolen by an Ogre. I found the belt but upon realizing it's true value I promptly killed her and took it for myself. Khalid and Jaheria didn't seem to pleased but what do I care? They're lucky I don't do the same to them.
Baldr011.png

AN: Convenient, I could dual class Crimson into a Thief if I needed to. Perhaps in the future
Baldr012.png

Someone clearly wants me dead and badly if they are distributing such information so quickly. But only 350 gold? Surely my head is worth more than that after dispatching so many would be murderers Bah! Perhaps I can do something about that and find myself a *real* challenge

Baldr013 [MConverter.eu] (1).jpg

I found two new companions in Beregost. A Dwarven Woman named Moidre who swore an oath to protect me after helping me smash in the head of the latest pathetic attempt on my life and a tiny mad gnome named Tiax. Tiax worships Cyric and seems to have some sort of superiority complex. He believes that he will one day rule the world and isn't afraid to spout his inane nonsense to whomever may listen. I find him amusing and perhaps his skills as both a rogue and a cleric will prove useful to me.

The gnome believes himself in charge. I've decided to humor him for shits and giggles but in reality he is but a jester in *my* court

Baldr015.png

AN: How did I make the same mistake two runs in a row? And now I hate Flinds even more
Baldr017 [MConverter.eu].jpg

While in search of the necromancer Bassilus (a 5,000 gold bounty? Yes please), Tiax spewed more of his nonsense; sputtering about his own impatience to rule. I assured the diminutive dimwit that everything I do must be working toward Cyric's plan. In truth I bow to no god, but Tiax is more useful to me when he is pleased.

Traveling the road south to Nashkel we were questioned by Flaming Fist mercenaries. I had half a mind to gut all of them but I suspected that might cause Khalid and Jaheria to turn on me and we can't have that (yet) so I decided to be "diplomatic" by questioning their logic. Why would bandits be out in the open? I mean do we *look* like common bandits? If they are truly threatening every passer by than I can see why this crisis has not resolved itself sooner: the authorities are all morons

Baldr021.png

I was able to kill *one* Flaming Fist Officer however, who we found harassing some drow woman named Viconia. What is a drow doing on the surface? Viconia seemed non receptive to questioning but did offer her services to me as a cleric which I accepted. No doubt some will attack us simply for having a drow in our midst. Let them come! I'll bathe in the blood of anyone who dares.

Note to Self: My ferocity has seemed to only grow since leaving Candlekeep. To some degree this concerns me and yet, it almost seems....right? My dreams have also grown odd. I had a dream in which I was forced to watch Gorion's death over and over until my tears turned to anger and my anger turned to rage and my rage turned into....something else. What am I becoming? I awoke unafraid despite the horrific sight of my nightmare, and found myself able to drain the life force of one of the rats in my tavern room.

What am I?

On the way to Nashkel I had quite an amusing chat with the mad gnome. I doubt he'll question my leadership again any time soon
Baldr024 [MConverter.eu].jpg

Just outside Nashkel I was approached by a brutish human named Shar-Teel who challenged us to a fight but only wish to fight males to "prove her superiority" over them. Bah! I am far stronger than any of my companions, male or otherwise. Gender is irrelevant, what matters is power. I showed her such with the tip of my axe for the insult

AN: I did have to reload several times before I realized that I couldn't refuse her challenge and still kill her so I just killed her without talking. I won't make a habit of this, but I *am* trying to tell a story here

Baldr025 [MConverter.eu].jpg

Arriving in Nashkel, we were found a Red Wizard named Edwin who hired us to help him assassinate a "witch" from Halruaa *shrug* so be it, having a Red Wizard in my debt could be useful. I agreed to kill his witch if he agreed to help me investigate the mines in Nashkel. We're parting ways with Viconia for now but I'll return for her once I figure out how to get rid of Khalid and Jaheria
Baldr026.png

Am I to be harassed at every tavern I visit? Inside the Nashkel Inn I found myself once again in a tough battle with an assassin. This one immobilized me and my best fighters all at once but let her guard down and found her skull bashed in by a lucky swing from Edwin. In the chaos, Khalid got himself killed but unfortunately I cannot dump his body without his wife noticing. Perhaps another time

@ZaramMaldovar Well I used to read your stuff on the Beamdog forums before I ever started posting myself, so right back at you!

Whenever I pick a new character I refer to my big list of different possible classes, kits, mults, dual-classes etc. and I basically just randomly select one to do for the campaign (over time I've also kind of assigned them races, names, alignments, colors, pesonality traits, etc. I have 73 total...helps to allay my restartitis to just conceptualize characters I guess). I think you do something similar right unless I'm mistaken? For the no-reload campaigns at least.
