I can't see underwater: Let's play Subnautica blind

I agree with you on the creature design, though it was the smaller fish that won me over on that one. They all looked like things that were definitely alien, but also could have naturally evolved (just under different circumstances than Earth).

I know I called a lot of things by the "wrong" name, but a) being a blind playthrough, I have no way of knowing the right names and b) even though the PDA gives me names for things, why does the PDA get to name stuff? It works for me and I'm the survivor, so I should get that right. :p

I like the soundtrack for the most part. Some of the deeper biomes had soundtracks that were really creepy and well composed. My only criticism is that some of the zones have this occasional "growl" that pops up in the loop that made me think there was a hostile creature around (and there wasn't). I eventually got used to hearing it (and ignored it), but it was kind of a cheap shot. ;)

Absolutely. But allow me to humbly point out that "Sea Dragon Leviathan" sounds better than "Big Mouth". No disrespect 🤪

So here's a question: have you tried going to the edges of the map?
No. I have a theory on that. UW doesn't seem to be the type of devs that would cheap out with an invisible wall at the map borders. Considering the leviathans I saw patrolling the edges of where I did go, I bet if you get past them, all there is to find are bigger or more leviathans. You don't hit a "wall" at the border. Something just pops out and eats you, sending you back to your last base.

Am I close? :D

Holy shit! Guess I was right.

I really wish I had a good reason to mess around the world more, but Terraria scratches the building/exploration itch far better for me.

I do need to figure out my next game, though. Bioshock or Metro 2033 are pulling out ahead, even though I'd rather play something with a more creative/analytical loop.

Terraria, huh? I've never played it. But if you say it's cool, I'll get it and give it a try.
Just to give an eyes-wide-open perspective, it's kinda like minecraft, but looks like a 2d platformer. There's boss-battles and the like, but you don't have to advance that course. You can just mine, gather, and build, if you prefer. There are NPCs, but not really any story or interaction. The NPCs serve more as merchants and the like. It's super-sandboxy. That's its claim to fame. Plus, if you do the boss battles, they can be pretty interesting. You have to learn their attack patterns and work out your own strategy. I'll post some screenshots of some of my creations. I tend to go more micro/minimalist, but some people build some massively big stuff with it.
