After the death of Gorion, I was quite perturbed and the arrival of Imoen was helpful in calming me. For one thing two are better than one particularly if you have complementary skills. She also had with her oil of speed which I used to safely acquire equipment from the ambush site. She suggested that we went to Beregost first as we might be able to find like-minded allies there.
She was right. I came across Kagain who offered employment dealing with the bandits. His motivation might not have been ideal, but his plans certainly were. I also joined up with Morwen, a bard and an excellent archer who I certainly got along with.
On the way to the FAI, we killed an ogre with a belt fetish. Later on we discovered that one of the belts was quite useful. Joia then gave us a task which we did relatively easily, after which Tenya and then Thorin joined us. With him in the party, we dropped off Kagain, and on returning to the FAI we left Imoen there. I certainly didn’t want to put her at risk fighting the bandits.
Farmer Brun had asked us for help and he was delighted with what we accomplish for him. Tenya neutralised the Ankhegs with Command and Thorin was our front-line fighter.
We then killed Tarnesh and spoke to Dorn, a rather rude, if tough person. I certainly didn’t expect him to join our party, but he did when we went south from Nashkel. He certainly had a grievance which we partially solved when we killed Kryll.
We killed Zordral and Greywolf, and shortly afterwards parted company, and upon leaving he said that he was returning to the FAI.
After helping Prism, we took Samuel to the FAI. Tenya has just told me about Lethe who could show her how to use her bowl, however finding her might not be easy.
We dealt with Bassilus and helped Charleston Nib and Brage who we managed to prove was not guilty of murder.
Whilst doing so a temple messenger asked for our aid.
We killed some assassins.
We were eventually able to prove Brage's inocence.
At the temple we were asked to deal with Mutamin and upon going in search of him, we got into conflict with other adventurers.
We then killed basilisks and medusae galore.
We didn't realise immediately that Tenya was no longer with us, but guessed rightly that she had been petrified. Fortunately we still had the scroll that Aerie had given us - stone to flesh, and we were able to find her fairly easily and we used it on her. We used a few blue potions on her and she was fully recovered.
We then returned to the temple to buy three more stone - flesh scrolls in case they were needed.
Our first major mishap, but one that could be rectified.
Just as well that it wasn't me that was petrified.
In Gullykin we met more assassins who were quite tough and upon heading south we met up with Lethe who was responsible for the death of Tenya's mother. It was a difficult battle, but we killed her. Afterwards we went to the Carnival to identify our loot.
Time for bed!
