User Kynslagh on Steam created a list to measure the replay value/bang for buck of games by the percentage of 100+ hour reviews they have compared to total reviews.

Raise a hand if you're one of them (I certainly am, for quite a few games from this list, from Skyrim, to BG3, to Rimworld). ;)

People love their simulation games, it seems.

Going through my own list showed me results I didn't quite expect. Here are my most played games:

Injustice 2: 664 hours (and counting). I am a highly competitive player in this fighting game and this doesn't surprise me. I still try to keep my skills with Gorrilla Grodd and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sharp.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim Special Edition: 599 hours. Needs no explanation. Between my time on VR and console, this is higher. I have another 200 hours in VR.

Fallout 4: 200 hours. 200 hours wasted, I did not enjoy the game.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: 190 hours (and counting). I don't even like anime or dragon ball z all that much. But, there are 3 things l love in video games:

- Create-a-characters, especially in fighting games

- Fighting games with rpg mechanics and build crafting

- RPG games with social elements

It has all 3 of these characteristics to one degree or another. And it does not rehash the same anime we all know and love, it is it's own story in the future. Great.

Marvel Midnight Suns: 248 hours. Well spent. Has many of the same features I like about Xenoverse.

Tyranny: 195 hours. One of my favorite RPGs of all time. It feels like an indie game but the concepts behind the world itself are fantastic.

At this moment, I have 2059 hours in Terraria. Sometimes I think of what else I could have done with that much time: become fluent in a couple new languages , earned an extra bachelor's degree, cured cancer. But, I'm not mad about it. That game got me. It's not a lot of time when you consider the game's been out since 2011, though. That works out to only an average of 150 hours a year or around 90 minutes a week.

I haven't done a lot of games on that list. Haven't even heard of many of them, but I can claim finishing and replaying Civ V and Fallout: New Vegas,

I have 226 hours in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (I wouldn't say it is necessarily a "single-player focused game", as while you can beat it in a single player, multi is very much encouraged)

Pillars of Eternity, 274 hours. Well, it takes me a while to finish playthroughts, not to mention ones I haven't finished or I have abandoned

The Witcher III - on Steam I have only 1 playthrough in progress, 67 hours. But, I mostly played Witcher III on GoG, and that doesn't count towards steam playtime

It's not important really, but I consider xenoverse one of the most single-player friendly fighters since the golden age of fighting games in the PS2 era (think Soul Calibur 3 or Mortal Kombat Armageddon)

One reason is just the sheer amount of story and branching quests. The storyline that has each episode change in big or small ways depending on your trainer was particularly well done. Gotenks actually had me laughing, it was totally appropriate.

Second is because of the huge modding community, and that bricks your online. I found Master Roshi's old transformation from Dragon Ball (where he gets really large) and a fighting style that purely uses a sword, to go with all my sword special moves. Using both makes me look like some He-Man barbarian, I'm having quite a bit of fun with it.
