Hello all. Did a refresh of my steam wishlist the other day, added a bunch of new games (many of which are smaller RPGs). When doing that it got me thinking, what does everyone elses' lists look like? Maybe we can exchange some thoughts on new games and perhaps get to knew of a new/coming game we didn't know about before.

My list has several smaller games. Most I find either on splattercat gaming on YouTube (a creator focusing on indie games) or from Reddit posts or sometimes even reddit ads. My list are primarily RPGs and strategic games with a splash of survival games (though these ones I tend to never actually buy, hah).

Highlighting a few selected ones I will keep my eyes on more:

Dustwind, Travelling at night, Revenge of the Firstborn, Glasshouse, Deep Sheol and I think the coolest looking game of them all; Graft.

An excellent topic, and great choices!

The Guild - Europa 1410

1348 Ex Voto

Caribbean Legend: Age of Pirates

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era

You are an ambitious bunch! I play games so slowly (and obsessively) that I can't kid myself that I'll ever be able to get through a big list. That, and I just don't get into most games. When I do get into a game I can play it for twenty years, so I guess I'm lucky it doesn't happen too much. 😂

That said, there is one game I'll be keeping an eye out for: Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth. The holy grails for me would be a Ravenloft game or something set in the Blade Runner world, so I'm thrilled there is a Blade Runner game coming. Now, I just have to hope they don't fuck it up.

I ended up picking this one up on a Steam sale. I'd really like to play it more, but the control scheme was just insufferable for all you could potentially be managing. If I ever were to get my hands on a USB console controller for my laptop, I might give it another shot, but (as is) it's a heartbreaker.
Yeah, if I ever grab it, I will play it on my XBox controller.

Monster Hunter: World could be my introduction to this kind of games (it isn't "soulslike", is it?")
The combat involves rolling, i-framing, and many moves require commitment. Otherwise though, the game is not an soul-like and is not an rpg. Gameplay wise, it is easier than soul-likes (main storyline at least). The game is really fun once it clicks with you, but It does not do good job at explaining basics to new players. So if you ever wanted to try it, let me know. There were newcomers I helped out before in learning the ropes and I'll gladly do it again.

New to my wish list, a cyberpunk game from the devs of the Ascent. Never played that myself, but I've had it on my wishlist for ages. Their new game looks quite cool, kinda CP2077esque:

Have you played CP2077? I've always wondered about that one. I heard it was controversial in quality out of the gates, but that (possibly) they got it together.

Yeah, it's a whole new game now.i recommend it 100%. In current state, one of the best games I have ever played. O haven't had the chance to play DLC yet, but from what I read, it's stellar quality.

CP2077 is one of the biggest gaming experiences and memories for me. I only played it at release, and was very impressed. Due to story reasons and the impression that first run had on me, I never came back to it, even with its critically acclaimed (and player-loved) expansion (not to tweak my impressions; also not willing to go through those emotional situations again, I'd call CP2077 an emotional rollercoaster). And yes, the game received a lot of patches and its quality became even higher. https://tavernrpg.com/threads/cyberpunk-2077-reviews-opinions-thoughts.129/

If only it wasn't FP, I'd be giving it a run as well. It looks like a really cool, Blade Runneresqe world. Speaking of Blade Runner:

This title was literally cancelled a day or two after I made this post. 😔

What's FP? First Person?
Yeah, first person. I actually think it fits CP2077 perfectly due to how CDPR implemented everything that is going on in game engine, without relying on cutscenes. It's a truly immersive experience that would be difficult to express in third person. The only time when game switched to third person is when you drive a car or motorcycle, but you can also switch between TP and FP during a ride.
