Wondering if a thief could be a follower of Tyr, Helm, or Tempus

I think some justification could be made for Helm and Tempus, if you understand a thief as a rogue in a wider sense than just pickpocketing. Tyr, from my point of view, is a hard no, especially since patron of thieves, Mask, is among Tyr's enemies.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was considering running a party of Tyr followers: Cleric of Tyr, Paladins, a mage, and a thief/fighter thief.

I was also thinking of a party of Tempus followers, but thought that using stealth or poison would be a no-no.

With Helm, I was thinking that in a party of Helmites, a thief could be OK so long as he accepted the due punishment if caught thieving.

In terms of adventuring party, it might be a no-no. But Tempus followers could use a rogue for a scouting purposes before big battle etc.

In my mind, there's cognitive dissonance with the idea of the God of Watchers and Guardians supporting thievery, sneakiness, or security bypass of any kind. The whole point of a Guardian deity is to thwart all those things. "Helm sees all! Know that, and be judged!"

Helm is a hard no for me. Tempus may tolerate a thief in the same way he tolerates The Red Knight, strategy is part of warfare and all, but I do think that sort of character would be better served as a Red Knight disciple rather than Tempus proper. But hey, it could work. Tyr is borderline for me, it depends on the circumstances. Are you a Robin Hood-esque thief, taking from others who have no legitimate claim to these things in the first place? And for good motives? Then definitely.
