There's no such thing as a Star Wars Holiday Special. I refuse to acknowledge its reality... It's like the Baldur's Gate novels, which also do not exist. :alien:
It really depends on the kind of story being told. If it's the epic path of how Joe Nobody saves the universe, then I expect to travel halfway around the Universe and talk to hundreds of people.
If it's the story of how you saved your village from cultists, I don't expect to go to hell after...
Sometimes the only way to know how a homebrew will work is testing with real players and seeing how it goes. Whenever we were trying homebrew rules in our games me and my group had an agreement, we could undo the actions using that rule, if proved broken.
Personally, I don't mind if AI is used with secondary NPCs to give them some freedom of speech instead of a never-ending cycle with two or three phrases. Now letting AI write most if not all your game is a step in the wrong direction
