It sounded good but then I looked up the graphics and see it is 3d or whatever it may be properly called.Might and Magic 6, 7, and 8 and pretty fun, open world, old school RPGs. I think they are almost perfectly balanced, difficulty wise. Wizardry 8 is very similar but slower and more difficult.
I would have a hard time getting into that. I find even things like Neverwinter Nights I would struggle to get into now.
3d games imo have not aged well as goes for most 3d games of any period I guess.
Isometric still look charming and immersive, pretty much to the same degree they did as back when they were released. I would say equally but not quite but only because the novelty aspect having worn off compared to when they would have been new. I love hand drawn iso backgrounds.
Also to add to that I would say I didn't like the graphics of the contemporary game Pathfinder Kingmaker as they were 3d backgrounds, even though it was isometric. I mean they were ok but in no way beautiful like 2d hand drawn.
So hand drawn is the way for me.
Oh, I will add a small footnote to mention that the Elder Scrolls games, while being 3d have reached similar levels of immersion at times with their games. Morrowind again, though, did not stand the test of time for me, even looking up the best mods for graphics one might find. Skyrim has held up well I reckon for a 3d game but still I think my machine would not handle any 3d game I would find passable graphics wise in this genre.
I just read that Avowed has been released, which of course would not play on this laptop but it is interesting and something I would like to try on my desktop if I ever have time to use it again as POE was a wonderful world they build with Eora so would be interesting to see how it feels in a 3d rendition.
