I honestly believe that this movie should be shown to students of psychology, to show them an example of an extremely flawed theory of the human mind. It is impossible that a person develops a pathology like the one exhibited by Tom Hanks' character simply by playing an RPG. That is not how the mind works, in any way, shape or form.

It’s a ‘far out’ film for sure. On par with the Star Wars Holiday Special, I’d say. I’m sorely regretting not bringing this to the bad movie parties we used to have back in the day.
There's no such thing as a Star Wars Holiday Special. I refuse to acknowledge its reality... It's like the Baldur's Gate novels, which also do not exist. :alien:

I didn't know that. The only thing that I know about Sweden is that it has some cool heavy metal bands, lol
Tried to google some articles quickly but came up with nothing great, my google fu is weak. But it was called "the swedish sin" and it was quite the controversy internationally in countries with a less liberal view on nudity etc. This is perhaps quite off topic though, but it's laughed at today as something quite silly. Even today sometimes I can see Sweden being referred to as promiscuous etc and that's probably at least to a degree based on that old reputation built up 50-60 years ago.

But yes, Sweden has second or third hhighest number of metal bands per capita IIRC. Finland and Norway I think beat us.
