Okay, this is not a video I was expecting to see in 2026, but here we are. Quite compelling evidence of a small, cute snake having a beef with Markipler, of all people on the planet.
The gist of it is that Markiplier plays a lot of horror games with jump scares.
Snake sees owner reacting with fear while watching his videos. Startle response can be pretty involuntary and immediately visible to even a snake. Snake lacks the context that this is an entirely safe funtime activity for her. So he moves to protect her from the apparent "danger" of this face that's always there when she acts like that.
Honestly though, I'm just surprised a snake has such a strong grasp on human faces. I didn't think they could tell us apart like that.
That's interesting hypothesis, but the thing is I am not sure whether snakes are capable of forming bonds with their owners to the point of being protective of them... In fact I never heard of it, as it seems snakes simply didn't evolve this way.
