The challenge is to pull off the timing, which I found to be right around the 3rd long rest. Or if that one doesn't work then you might have to knock her out twice. If you pull it off then you get to meet someone new.
I'm pretty sure this so that you can still have the scene if Durge had already killed all the tiefs somehow or raided the grove right away, but it also works if trying to be a good Durge, or just a Durge who really wants to see Alfira survive somehow. I tried to save the other new gal too, the first time out, but this was impossible so far as I know. The choice then was to have Lae'zel kill me and then revive me in the morning, but that loses the Mantle and she goes down regardless. So this run we just went with it.
Hence the mulberries turning from white to red this time around.
I wanted to save Minthara, but for all the knock outs the tricky part is that you will get that faction disapproval when they go temp hostile agro. So basically if you don't one shot them quickly they may heal or turn call the guards, which can get hectic.
I goof'd by having Astarion talk to Priestess Gut but I forgot sleep doesn't work on him cause he's an elf, so then she agro'd the camp and someone hit a drum. At that point Roah dipped and Minthara I guess went full hostile so her non-lethal knock didn't give the scene at Moonrise. If you cast silence or reposition NPCs with stuff like the fog cloud that also works sometimes, but Holding seems to be the most reliable.
In my head canon it all comes back to that first time at the Zaithisk - except this time we're already Awakened! hehe
Shadowheart has confronted her fear of wolves - now she's Alpha! lol
