Thanks! I'm enjoying Ava, for sure. Her progress isn't exactly a surprise, though.
Sometime ago I ran another swashbuckler, Amara. I lost her to a maze in Suldanessellar, but she had coasted through SoA prior to that, and appeared to have an easy ride to Abazigal at least. Swashies are...
Ava, Halfling Swashbuckler: The Gate and Back Again
Eager to find ways to economize, as I bridge the gap from the Sword Coast to Tethyr, I happened to notice that I had exactly 26 screenshots left from BG1. 26 is less than 30, so why not get it all done in one post? Why not indeed.
This is...
Ava, Halfling Swashbuckler: The Cloakwood
I'm trying to think if I've ever fallen this far behind on coverage before. The answer is yes, I think, but I don't think I've ever actually caught up after falling this far behind. In the interest of breaking new ground, achieving the to date...
Ava, Halfling Swashbuckler: Bandit Camp
As Ava readied herself to open the final seals at Watcher's Keep, she requested a side bar. The seals were dangerous. Her death may be imminent. And what would happen if she did fall? Surely she'd be forgotten, as most failed challengers are. Shouldn't...
And, btw, Ava is alive and well. She's just so far ahead of her updates that I'll need to set aside an afternoon to catch up.
IIRC, her posts are pre-bandit camp. As for where she actually is...
So, yeah: there's a gap. Not sure when I'll get a chance to update. Hopefully soon. In the...
I do the exact opposite. I take a minimalist approach on the offensive end, and load up on Abjuration school spells.
The core of my defense is to use illusionary protections to get my saves in the safe zone, lock those in with SI:A + SI: D, and protect SI:A and SI: D with Spell Shield and the...
If his ultimate goal is to no reload SCS, I think the smart move would be to start with a book tailored for SCS and learn the contours of it in vanilla. An SCS book will work in vanilla and it does take time I optimize your use of any book.
Greetings, fellow wayfarer! It’s always a pleasure to welcome new people to the forum, especially no reloaders.
This is a perfect place to ask about sorcerer spells, and I’d be happy to assist. I’m sure there are others who would be too. Borco and Finarfin have both run sorcerers recently...
In the early game, yes. Like many kit powers the special snares weren't rebalanced for BG1. By the time you get to the end game they make sense. Early on you just toss them and, like, everything dies.
Best of luck with Edric, Borco! I'm looking forward to this one!
And I whole heartedly approve of your decision to go human. Human thieves are a ton of fun, since they force you to use your wits. My sorcerer, Alanis, taught me how to cast, but my human bounty hunter, Alesia, taught me...
Crazy that I never noticed. I guess it's because she uses her darts in my install. I typically have the missile weapon AC to shrug her off and the difference between 5 and 3 isn't ginormous (assuming she stays at 5 while wielding her darts).
She tagged me here because I was sloppy. I neglected...
