Yeap with a completely distinct set of abilities and powers. I just think the difficulty spikes were too big and that game just loved to drain abilities. :)
I'd really start with WoTR. It solved a lot of small problems Kingmaker had. Just be warned that most bosses come with a difficulty spike and figuring out how to bypass an enemy resistances and immunities may get complicated. Also puzzles. The game is full of puzzles, to the point I avoid a...
My full completionist run of WoTR took over 200 hours, completed all quests and went everywhere... Since then, DLC have added at least an extra 30hours of game. And there is one last DLC to be released next year so it may get even longer.
Also don't take unfair difficulty lightly. It has that name for a reason, like enemies 10 levels above you with insta kill abilities. That's the reason you need prebuffing in higher difficulty settings.

Yeap I pretty much avoid going to the community tab on any Steam Game I don't want to be spoiled. Reddit seems to be better at that, they often spoil tag even post titles.
The next DLC Lord of Nothing happens in Act V of the main campaign. So, for anyone doing a playthrough who wishes to try it out, stop somewhere in Act IV :)
