    Let's discuss replayability of RPGs

For me, it's several things combining into a whole greater than the sum of its parts. I have a list of RPG's I've played over and over since 1998, and I rarely add a new game to the list. These include classic RPG's like Might and Magic and Baldur's Gate, ARPG's like Diablo, Sacred, and...

HoMM 2 Price of Loyalty Warlock Town Theme - live performance

Yes, I wish the Heroes Orchestra would branch out into arranging and performing Might and Magic tracks. Maybe they will someday, since they're still actively arranging and performing. They've done the BG tavern music before, as well as Aerie's and Jaheira's romance themes, using chamber...

HoMM 2 Price of Loyalty Warlock Town Theme - live performance

The Heroes Orchestra finally performed the warlock town theme from HoMM2 Price of Loyalty. I've been wishing for a long time that they would do this one, as it's always been my favorite HoMM track. Paul Romero himself performs the piano part. Feel free to share your own favorite HoMM music...

    Alignment

Well, I'd call Ao or any "overgod" in a polytheistic setting just another god that's more powerful than the others. Zeus in Greek myth was supposed to be more powerful than all the other gods combined. Ao enforces certain principles and restrictions that are necessary to keep the other Forgotten...

    Alignment

It depends on which version of Batman, doesn't it? I seem to remember seeing one of those meme charts where somebody put different versions of him into all nine alignments. :)

    Alignment

I like to analyze what D&D alignments fictional and historical characters might be as much as any D&D fan, because it's fun, but I think all this trying to shoehorn Christian theology and cosmology into D&D cosmology is in error and misguided. Christianity is an extremely dualistic religion -...

Enuhal's journey through Azeroth - World of Warcraft Classic 1-60 on a fresh hardcore server

Congratulations on level 55. Looks like you may make it to the 60 milestone without losing your hardcore status. (Hopefully my saying that doesn't jinx it.) You seem to be quite an expert on every aspect of the classic game, but I suppose that's a prerequisite for any kind of hardcore run of a...

    The Witcher series

So, I'm not a fan of the Witcher. I've not read the books, and I've not played the games, and I probably won't ever, the reason for me being that games with pre-determined protagonists don't fit my taste. I've never played and probably won't play the Mass Effect series for the same reason...

Enuhal's journey through Azeroth - World of Warcraft Classic 1-60 on a fresh hardcore server

Man, losing a hardcore run to a technical glitch would be so frustrating and heartbreaking! I'm really happy for you that your luck held through a DC.

Enuhal's journey through Azeroth - World of Warcraft Classic 1-60 on a fresh hardcore server

I watched a video of a hardcore group running Ragefire Chasm the other day. Based on the voice chat instructions the one experienced player in the group was giving to their tank, I thought it was extremely risky. First, there are several extremely large mobs blocking some places in the path...

Enuhal's journey through Azeroth - World of Warcraft Classic 1-60 on a fresh hardcore server

This is a cool idea. I've never seen a WoW run written up as a documented "no-reload" run. It would have to be classic-WotLK, because starting with Cata, they nerfed the questing combat so bad a hardcore run would be fairly meaningless, plus the Deathwing event causes constant unavoidable dying...

    Charisma

Charisma represents force of personality and ability to lead, which is why it's also important for paladins and impacts their abilities from 3rd edition onward. (2nd edition just used a flat minimum charisma score for the class). For sorcerers and bards from 3rd edition onward, I think the idea...

Dueling Torches...or how's the Torchlight run going (m7600)?

I don't see Fire and Spark as part of your build. Since you seem to have chosen Seismic Slam with some Flame Hammer as your main damage outputs, could that be a reason why you're finding your DPS lacking? Each level of Fire and Spark is a 5% increase to fire damage according to the wiki.

Dueling Torches...or how's the Torchlight run going (m7600)?

Out of curiosity, are you self-restricting potion use? I've played tank engineers and had no trouble face-tanking everything in the game, but I don't care how many potions I use. I also build at least one of the engineer's many fantastic aoe melee damage output abilities. I've done Flame Hammer...

Dueling Torches...or how's the Torchlight run going (m7600)?

You may or may not know that the forerunner of the Torchlight games was a game called Fate. Fate was produced by former Diablo developers who wanted to make a similar game that they themselves would enjoy, but without the restrictions and demands of working for a large company. They had a small...

Dueling Torches...or how's the Torchlight run going (m7600)?

I'd love to hear more about how both runs are going. I never tried a summoner build in Torchlight before. I hear summoner builds work well in Grim Dawn. Speaking of which, if you're still looking for games similar to Diablo 2, you might want to try Grim Dawn some time, if you haven't already...

What game are you currently playing?

Torchlight 2 is more of a direct 1-to-1 Diablo 2 clone, so if you're not enjoying Torchlight 1, you might want to try Torchlight 2 before you drop the franchise. Torchlight 2 has the more typical ARPG approach of going through multiple acts that include wooded area, snow-covered rocky landscape...

    The Core of Diablo

Hmm. Thanks for the updates. I had written off Diablo IV and forgotten that it exists. Now I'm thinking about getting it eventually, especially if I can catch it on sale. I really enjoyed Diablo II and even Diablo III, so I might like the new one.

Top 20, 100, etc List of Games

I don't want to rank my games, because they all change constantly in how much I favor them purely depending on my mood or what phase I'm going through. What I will do is list every favorite I can think of in rough (very rough) order of release, the main criterion for inclusion being, I still...
