Just checking to see if it works. I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased that Space Ragnar didn't have his show cancelled out from under him again. After Raised by Wolves and all, could have been dicey. I mean clearly I'll watch Olivia Williams and Emma Canning in anything now, but I was already pretty down I guess hehe. I just felt like Volker Bertelmann deserved a few props for that hidden hand and the rest. Kept me on board for sure. Had a nice sweep I thought, and a voice to it. Movement worked for me. Sometimes when something is very current it'll catch some detraction, like there's probably a thousand articles, but I enjoyed it for sure. I thought it more compelling than the recent feature films and closer to my experience reading the books for the first run in highschool, but I think mainly cause of this...

And then this one as well...

I appreciated the simplicity and repetition, but also how it just kinda catches and sticks there. Like it's pretty impressive when one can combine a number of very familiar elements in that way, to achieve something that will having me humming it afterwards. I'd say in the shower cause it's the classic, but for me it was making frozen waffles in the kitchen, but like if that lego eggo was going to be all determining the fate of the imperium. Or like to get a fragment that can basically make any given shot of people walking into a room to seem like super consequential, as if everything was turning on it. When I dig stuff that has that pop to it, I feel like it's important to applaud a bit, so as not to fall into the cynicism of everything always seeming kinda mid and disappointing when it hits broadly. The last time I caught a similar hook for a score in might have been like that soundtrack to the marco polo show with the mongolian throat singing. Or way before that, maybe the Ravenous score, that I always enjoy returning to. Had a similar vibe for me here. Not that random words or extra scaffolding on top of the music is going to color ones impression, or that dissociating it from the actual visuals in whatever given shot always works. But in this case, the heavy lifting was right there for me. Like I'm doing laundry now, it's still pretty epic echoing in the background.

Street by street.
Block by block.
Taking it all back.

The youth immersed in poison - turn the tide counterattack.
Violence against violence,
let the roundups begin.

A firestorm to purify the bane
that society drowns in.

No mercy, no exceptions, a declaration of total war.
The innocent's defense is the reason it's waged for.

Born addicted, beaten and neglected.
Families torn apart,
destroyed and abandoned.
Children sell their bodies,
from their high they fall to drown.
Demons crazed by greed
cut bystanders down.

A chemically tainted
welfare generation.
Absolute complete
moral degeneration.

Born addicted, beaten and neglected.
Families torn apart,
destroyed and abandoned.
Children sell their bodies,
from their high they fall to drown.
Demons crazed by greed
cut bystanders down.

Corrupt politicans,
corrupt enforcement,
drug lords and dealers,
all must fall.
The helpless are crying out.
We have risen to their call.

A firestorm to purify.
A firestorm to purify.
A firestorm to purify.
