Now that I have finally "completed" Through the Ashes and Inevitable Excess to my satisfaction I have started my WotR "cannon demon playthrough".
I'm doing Half-Elf Overwhelming Mage Enchanter - now this is outclassed at the very highest edge by a wizard (esp diviner) and seeker (extra feats) -...
In hindsight the story in Inevitable Excess is pretty interesting once you get to the middle. The first half is weaker imo and it picks up once you figure out what is going on. I like the Excess idea. The story is a real strength.
The combat is weak - there are only so many valakia vanguard + a...
Killed that a**hole Inevitable Darkness on Hard with the default companion builds for Inevitable Excess with a normie TSS Angel. *wipes away sweat with 99 Heal, Mass scrolls*
True nightmare fuel. Not recommended.
The reason for the Death's Door is I was playing earlier in the DLC on Normal...
I tend to think of Enchantment as a the most evil school of magic to pursue. Imagine meeting a wizard who told you their specialty is making other people into obedient puppets. Magic scary.
Run review:
Somewhere I messed up and didn't get the Nyrissa ending - I seem to have forgotten something important. Apart from that everything went fine.
Fey Bloodline is very powerful - within reason. It will either a) trivialize an encounter or b) be completely useless (looking at you...
Why do you stand for this? Why do you submit to the flesh, when death is bred in your bones? Realize the power you might hold? When the world of flesh is beneath you, even creatures mysterious and magical will fall!
But perhaps you can see from the direct complaints about HatEoT why Owlcat too the "other route" to end game difficulty in WotR - AC. Which likewise generated complaints.
People say they want enemies to use different tactics against the player - but when they do they don't like it!
For the house, heres how I did it in the latest challenging run. Valerie, Jubilost, Octavia, Harrim, Feyspeaker, Enchanter MC
Wild Hunt: Valerie (TSS10/Stalwart 8-9) with a few buffs like legendary proportions solo'd down every group. Leave everyone else behind.
Ghostly Guards+mages - ditto...
House at the End of Time is one of the best high-level dungeons ever made and only 8.6% of people who start Kingmaker ever see it and 100% of them hate it
Thinking about it Owlcat have produced:
HatEoT
Drezen
Pitax
Wintersun
Blackwater
Through the Ashes DLC as a whole
Lostlarn Keep in...
Lil' Update: The route I have been scouting through the game got all 10 Masterpieces at 51 days before Ancient Curse part 7, but the last one, Mastery took a full 50 days beyond the 9th.
Lil' bit of luck, lil' bit of skill.
Spider swarms move reeeal slow. And kineticists target touch. The dogs are harder because of their fast speed.
For the boss spider never underestimate Grease, the AC of the Boar animal companion and fire kineticists.
I completed it on Unfair - not to bad. Hardest points were:
1. In true Owlcat fashion, the first enemy.
2. Dealing with positioning and placement and mistakes etc.
2. A babau.
Good luck! I would highly recommend going for it with the default team - or just the two compulsory companions for the first playthrough - keeps the tension high. Making custom companions is too cheap.
Case and point, i'm playing through on unfair now:
Fire Elemental Engine
Fire Elemental...
Fire kineticist is 100% the easy-mode route. Limited rests means most caster classes are going to have a hard time, and limited equipment mean that gear dependent classes are going to have a hard time. There are lots of immune and resistant enemies as well both types of physiccal damage and...
Just want to say that WotR DLC#2 - Through the Ashes looks fantastic (the art and level design devs have really done themselves proud), plays pretty well, and is hard as hell. Been playing for about 10 hours trying to clear on core including 5 full restarts and about 100 quick-loads.
