Well, can you believe it's already been three months with Wybrough my Fighter/Mage? Well, just like Ethal Jo, I WILL eventually get back to him to continue his story. But with my manageable form of restartitis, I'm going to circle back to a CLERIC/MAGE roleplay-through I have going, currently in the middle of BG2. I started this guy back in the Fall of 2020 so not that long ago. My Berserker thread fell a few pages back so I'm sure the Wybrough one will too...don't want to spam!!

So for this run, I didn't take as detailed notes as I've been doing recently, especially in the beginning, so hopefully I can post the BG1/SOD/early SOA stuff relatively quickly to "catch up" with the story so to speak. This wasn't part of any previous thread on the Beamdog forum. I also took almost no screenshots. Think this is still better than starting fresh with a completely new character.

Guidelines recap for my playthroughs:

-PLAYTHROUGH. The entire Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition saga from BG1 to TotSC to SOD to SOA to TOB. Core rules...unmodded. Official vanilla. Once I can get through the whole thing without a reload, I’ll think about upping the difficulty!

-ROLEPLAY & MINIMAL METAGAMING. I try to flesh out as realistic a character as possible and roleplay that. I try to come up with a unique personality and Candlekeep-based biography to match. I generally think about it for a day or so before I start a new character. I pick their class, possible dual class, weapon specializations, and thief skills if applicable, but beyond that I don't keep any specific plan for the playthrough. Respond naturally, as I think the character would in that moment, and see what happens. In practice, this determines dialogue choices, what companions I keep, and my specific prioritization of quests, battles, and area explorations. I make the most in-character choices, even if I'm aware it may lead to not getting a quest or losing out on a companion or whatever. E.g., I may have had hopes for weeks of getting a certain companion in my party, only to realize when I finally meet them that's there's no realistic way to get them to join with the dialogue options provided. And I have to suck it up and move on...so I really don't have any idea how the playthrough is going to go when I start up. After all this time playing BG I do appreciate random unfortunate events that throw a wrench into my plans.

-MINIMAL RELOAD. I know that has different meanings to different people, but to me it means I reload when charname dies, but I roll with anything else that might happen. This means I may have a catastrophe where my entire party dies, and it would be easier to give up and reload...but as long as PC still stands, I'll fight the temptation to bring up an earlier save (I don't count gameplay bugs or real-world distractions). And as far as charname deaths, well I just believe there are several alternate realities, most of which charnames dies and never ascends to Bhaal's throne, but I'm writing about that one universe where he succeeds. The fact is, I very much don’t want my PC to die (that’s just called playing the game)…but moreso, I want to take the character through the entire saga while having as natural and non-metagamed experience as I can. I started logging every time my PC dies, so I’m hoping the subtle shame of having to broadcast my failures will give me extra motivation to stay alive!

Seven other minor playing habits:
  1. My PC gets the best equipment available to them (for their role in the party). For “secondary” gear that remains, I balance it among companions.
  2. I generally don’t buy scrolls or equipment for companions either…I use merchants only for the PC’s equipment. The exception is for what I call situational & utility spell scrolls and items–e.g., Remove Fear, PfE, Dispel/Remove Magic, any protection-disablers, any resistance-lowerers, Simulacrum (including Vhailor’s Helm), Haste, Improved Haste, Spell Sequencers, and any others of that nature that I decide fit this bread-and-butter miscellaneous category.
  3. I WILL forge items for companions if I have all the components.
  4. I don’t recharge items by selling them to merchants and buying back.
  5. If I have a specialist mage (either PC or companion), all of their spell slots are used for the spells of their school that force a saving throw. The exception are the situational & utility spells as described above, which can take up slots too. That means a Conjurer will have all their Level 1 spells be Grease, unless I want to throw in a few PfEs or Protection from Petrifications. A playthrough where Edwin is my only mage? That’s a playthrough without magic missile.
  6. All characters need to have at least one proficiency point in the weapons they use, unless it’s temporary and there’s no choice.
  7. When I travel geographically between zones, I will always travel through other “intermediate” zones that happen to be along the line of sight from my origin to my destination. I will also always use the appropriate border. This is mostly for BG1 but can apply in BG2 as well. (E.g., I always visit the Bridge District when traveling between north and south sides of Athkatla, and walk my party to the appopriate end.)

Bio:

Growing up, Gorion often stressed the importance of excelling in your studies, always reinforcing to you that you were special, unique, smart, and were supposed to make something great of yourself in this world. Many of the other scholars and sages of the greater Candlekeep family fell in line with Gorion's way of thinking, and always you were lauded for your skills and potential–much of which was well deserved.

You’re an impressive and intelligent person, with talent in spellcasting and the wisdom and intelligence to make your way capably in this world. Named both for your communal upbringing in Candlekeep and a burning energy that flickered just under the surface since you were a small child–becoming impassioned when your mind was set on something–you truly were like the Prince of Candlekeep, and you’ve come to naturally think of yourself this way on a subconscious level.

This has all made you very focused on succeeding and accomplishing whatever goals you hold. Due to being an orphan, you've always wanted to prove your worth, knowingly or not, and have reacted positively, even addictedly, to the praise of your accomplishments within Candlekeep throughout your life. Your basic fear is that you will be tossed aside again as if you were nothing--cast aside, a homeless nobody, humiliated and exposed as worthless.

You tend to withdraw to yourself more than reach out to others. You are more involved in your personal feelings than those of others, and have fostered a strong sense of identity and uniqueness; this is almost as important to you as receiving personal love and adoration. You can be susceptible to mood swings as well, rarely...as your feelings overwhelm they tend to be bottled up inside instead of directed towards others. As both instinctual and withdrawing in stress, in extreme situations you may go into a moderate fugue state--a strong sense of denial, bottling up feelings too difficult to deal with. Most of the time, however, you are skilled as channeling strong feelings back into the task as hand. A slight lack of self-awareness belies the fact that your raw intelligence may be slightly higher than your natural wisdom.

So what is the ostensble purpose you tell yourself and others for your drive to be a wise, accomplished, and world-renowned Sage? To be like Gorion and make the world a safer, more peaceful place? In your ideal world, you become an "Uber-Gorion"...a Great Sage that the rulers of Faerun come to with reverence for advice and guidance--especially eager to provide your expertise on mystical quests of great magical nature. You are known throughout the lands for your undeniable achievements and your incredible, special wisdom. Making erudite decisions that shock with their wisdom and have great consequences throughout the world. The ideal world itself is peaceful and mainly continues with the same status quo--you do not have radical beliefs. It’s just your ROLE in this ideal world that is the more primary concern… As a cleric, your primary patron deity is Helm. The alignment and philosophy are a good fit, and he is good, popular, well-accepted and non-offensive deity.

As you'll come to grips with the true nature of your Bhaalspawn heritage, it will only strengthen your belief that you are a rare and special individual. In the end, you truly believe you are this divine-blooded "Wise Sage Supreme" and what is more relevant: You are constantly, subconsciously or not, trying to prove it.

Baldur’s Gate 1 Recap:
  • After Gorion's death, I was distraught at my situation and horrified at not being allowed back in Candlekeep. I knew Gorion wanted me to meet his friends Khalid and Jaheira at the Friendly Arm Inn, but I was too ashamed to consider facing them in the shape I was in. I wanted to send Imoen away too, but realized it was smarter to have her around for survival's sake.
  • I headed to Beregost first in an attempt to get my feet under me and establish my reputation a bit, recruiting both Neera and Kivan at some point. Stayed here for about a week and a half as we explored the surrounding area and hunted some ogres.
  • Traveled to the Friendly Arm and finally joined with Khalid and Jaheira, parting ways with Kivan. We turned and headed south to Nashkel in an attempt to resolve the local crisis.
  • After fighting through the Nashkel mines and killing Mulahey, I invited Xan to the group to replace Neera.
  • Prior to confronting the bandit leaders in their camp in the Woods of the Sharp Teeth, I decided to spend time further establishing my reptutation and prominence on the Sword Coast AND in Baldur’s Gate.
  • We accomplished many quests in the south and central Sword Coast region, notably: a days-long search for the evil cleric Bassilus where we put an end to his madness and violence; infiltrating a gnoll stronghold and rescuing Dynaheir; the Ulcaster ruins; and eventually bringing a cursed Commander Brage back to Nashkel.

Baldur’s Gate 1/Tales of the Sword Coast Recap:
  • Discovering that Baldur’s Gate is closed to travelers, we kept traveling north to Ulgoth’s Beard. We retrieved Shandalar’s Cloak from the magical ice island.
  • Confronted the bandits at the bandit camp, accidentally killed Ender Sai and lost reputation for it, and were pointed in the direction of the Cloakwood forest.
  • In Cloakwood, we met Coran and learned of Kelddath’s quest to slay the wyverns. I invited Coran to join the group, and parted ways with Imoen a short time later, making the slaying of the wyverns my primary concern for the time being.
  • After collecting the wyvern skulls, we traveled back out of Cloakwood to Beregost to present them to Kelddath.
  • We made the long journey back to the Iron Throne mine and eventually slew Davaeorn. I decided not to flood the mine, recognizing it may be extremely useful as a source of good iron.
  • Entering Baldur’s Gate, I agreed to help Commander Scar with his trade guild investigation. However, instead of immediately barging in to my potential embarrassment, I will look to first establish myself as a reputable citizen with obvious business to discuss.
  • Inadvertently got roped into Alatos’s scheme to rob Shandalar’s daughters. To avoid conflict, I agreed to his plan even though I had no intention of following through. Instead, I decided to warn them of Alatos’s scheming instead. However the plan backfired, and I ended up angering both the mages as well as some Flaming Fist Enforcers, forcing me to avoid traveling though the central region of the city from that point on.
  • Dealt with Marek and Lothander’s poisoning scheme and eventually investigated the Seven Suns and slew the dopplegangers inside.
  • Ran into Brielbara, the mother of Coran’s illegitimate child. I was to go to the Low Lantern of all places to intimidate another mage. I refused to get involved in this muck, and had Coran leave our party. A short time later, I saw Brielbara again. Her anger at my refusal to help caused her to attack, and we had to slay her in defense. I eventually replaced Coran with Imoen.
  • Slew the Ogre Mage sewer murderer.
  • After a week and a half trip outside the city on various business, I returned and infiltrated the Iron Throne headquarters with Duke Eltan’s support.
  • Framed for murder in Candlekeep while concurrently learning I am a child of Bhaal. I don’t quite know how to process these things. Once we escaped from the catacombs, we stayed in the wilderness for a few days. I met Safana and decided to replace Imoen with her.
  • Back in Baldur’s Gate, I was arrested by Angelo, who murdered Safana in cold blood. This set off a series of events that culminated in Sarevok being exposed in front of the Grand Dukes and me being recognized as the Hero of Baldur’s Gate. Sarevok fled down into the underbelly of the city.
  • With my reputation restored and my goals accomplished, I did not feel the urgent need to chase after Sarevok. I spent a day or two touring the rest of the city, then set off to conquer Durlag’s Tower–the last place of great renown on the Sword Coast. I replaced Safana with Coran for this adventure.
  • After slaying the Demon Knight in Durlag’s Tower and the summoned tanar’ri in Ulgoth’s Beard, I returned to Baldur’s Gate. I realized I may never truly be at peace with Sarevok still alive, so finally pursued him and defeated him in battle.

Siege of Dragonspear Recap:
  • Accepted the Duke’s request to lead the Baldur’s Gate war party, as a hero should. Safana was my only companion as we set off on the march from the city.
  • During the march, Corwin and Rasaad were both added to our group.
  • I eventually met Jaheira and welcomed my loyal friend back into the group.
  • At Bridgefort, we cleared the Temple of Bhaal and retrieved the wardstone. I entered Bridgeport via the portal and started planning with the defenders under siege.
  • We had a major victory at Bridgefort, breaking the siege and crushing or scattering the Crusaders. Once Bridgefort was liberated, Khalid joined our party. I asked Rasaad to stay behind with the rest of the Flaming Fist.
  • We journeyed to the Coalition Camp outside Dragonspear. We made our way to the underground cavern beneath the castle, disguised as Crusaders. I found Kanaglym, but got chased away by the formidable battle that would have awaited us inside, and never ended up going back.
  • I poisoned the water and foodstuffs and escaped back to camp. In the course of a few short days, we and the Coaltion conquered Dragonspear and the Crusade, I purse Caelar into Hell, and our party defeated Belhifet the devil.
  • The cursed hooded figure who’d been stalking me–Irenicus–framed me for murder. Again, I was cast out as the Hero of the Sword Coast in my worst nightmare coming true.

Shadows of Amn Recap:
  • Awakening in Athkatla, I was furious and distraught over what had been done to me. I escaped with Jaheira, Minsc, and Yoshimo, but I only kept Jaheira as a traveling companion, leaving the other two in the Promenade.
  • After a couple of days, I realized my only hope of regaining my life and hero status in Baldur’s Gate would be to track down Irenicus. I was loathe to provide all that gold to Gaelan Bayle and convinced myself I could find another way.
  • My immediate goals to “establish myself” in Amn were to raise funds for a magic license, find Valygar for the Cowled Wizards to gain their favor, and help the Temple with the Cult of the Unseeing Eye. I recruited Yoshimo again, needing a thief to join Jaheira and me.
  • In the search for Valygar, unfortunately realized the Cowled Wizards were not so much a respected part of the city as they were more of an mysterious outsider group. Still, I will search on.
  • While looking for the Cult, I found and freed Haer’Dalis, but did not follow his troupe into the planar portal.
  • Eventually we joined forces with Keldorn while taking down the Cult of the Unseeing Eye. I began to make the Temple of Helm my stronghold.
  • Traveled out to the Umar Hills. I had attempted to subdue Valygar, but surprisingly Keldorn jumped to his aid, and Jaheira, Yoshimo, and I had to slay both of them. I brought Valygar’s body back to Tolgerias and received very little for my troubles. These Cowled Wizards are cruel and insufferable, I decided.
  • Soon, I had solved the Bridge Murders and infiltrated the Fallen Paladins, but no new leads on Irenicus. I decided I would visit the Windspear Hills and Trademeet.
  • In the Windspear Hills, I encountered the true form of the Red Dragon Firkraag, and temporarily resolved his plot to ruin me. I was enraged that another villain had tried again to steal away my good name, reputation, and all else I built. I decided Firkraag was closer of a threat than Irenicus, so I would return soon to slay him.
  • Back in Athkatla, I begrudingly recruited Korgan in an attempt to build a dragonslaying party. We helped him with his catacomb crawl, and he was with us during Baron Ployer’s poisoning plot and and our trip to close the Five Flagons portal. But the brawl in the slums he got us into proved too much for me, and I parted ways with him. The evil dwarf wasn’t worth it, despite Firkraag looming.
  • The three of us (Jaheira, Yoshimo, and I) eventually went to investigate Trademeet. We encountered Rasaad and he joined our party. Within a few days, we resolved the crises with the druids and genies, and were delcared the heroes of the town.
  • Over the next several days, we began to explore Watcher’s Keep (clearing the first two levels), resolved the long-simmering magic crisis in the circus tent in Athkatla, and fully investigated Rasaad’s heretical clan which culminated in a large-scale battle with the Dark Moon cult. Rasaad decides to leave us to focus on his revenge against Algoroth.
  • With little other options, I recruited Minsc back in Athkatla, then headed eastward to slay Firkraag.
  • Following the dragonslaying, I knew that Irenicus must be next. To raise funds to pay the Shadow Thieves their fortune, I traveled to the Wild Mage refuge, attempted (unsuccessfully) the third level of Watcher’s Keep, and forced the trolls out of the de’Arnise Hold.
  • I met Aran Linvail, attacked the rival vampire guild, then set sail for Spellhold.
  • On Brynnlaw, Yoshimo convinced the Pirate Lord to smuggle us inside under pretense of insanity. We rescued Imoen, but shockingly realized Yoshimo was a traitor this whole time. We escaped the Asylum, roused the prisoners, and forced Irenicus to flee with my soul. We followed Irenicus and Bodhi directly through their portal into the Underdark.
  • In the Underdark, we eventually found Adalon, the Silver Dragon who could put us on the trail of Irenicus and Bodhi. She put us under powerful illusion magic to retrieve her eggs, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Within a few hours, the entire drow city turned on us when Jaheira killed the tavern pitmaster under the effects of Confusion (due to her fight in the pit…it’s like we were set up!).
  • We fought to get Adalon’s eggs from the Temple, then fought our way out. Adalon brought us to the exit, and we were greeted by the Elves of Suldanessallar and learned of Irenicus’s whereabouts.
  • To rally support for my fight against Bodhi, I spent a week paying visits to all my allies in Amn, even finally helping get Daxus the Wild Mage out of Athkatla. Only the Shadow Thieves and Radiant Heart, however, decided to send support.
  • We killed Bodhi in her lair and retrieved the Rhynn Lanthorn. We traveled to Suldanessallar, saved the Tree of Life, and killed Irenicus himself.
  • Upon being dragged to Hell, I chose the “good” path in all five trials. We then defeated the final incarnation of Irenicus.
  • Reloads: 5 (starting during "Over the next several days.." bullet, about thirty days into SOA)

Baldur’s Gate 1

Chapter 1

[Day 1]

The dawn is especially cruel this morning.

I tried doing some final errands and help out around Candlekeep and checked in with everyone before gathering equipment and leaving with Gorion. But his murder was tragic and traumatic for me--he did not say where we were going, just that he had friends at Friendly Arm Inn. He was talking me either out into the wilderness or to Baldur's Gate–someone is apparently after me? In this high stress time, my reaction is to instintively withdraw and keep emotions bottled. I think I will wander back to Candlekeep to see if I can get back in? At that point, I’m really facing my biggest fear now: a lost nobody begging for help...I may want to establish myself somewhere else first? Beregost or Baldur's Gate?

Imoen joined me. Don't know how I feel about that yet...if my first goal is just getting back to Candlekeep...maybe I just keep her around.

We made the four-hour trek to Candlekeep and back only to realize we were both not allowed back inside...and already we are fatigued. Again, a little iffy about having Imoen with me, as I want to maintain the image of a wise, respected sage and she is relatively childish and like a bumpkin. But after being attacked by a wolf, I'm realizing there was no way I could have survived alone (the two of us may have both been eaten, if I didn't have that wand of magic missiles)..therefore, may make sense to keep Imoen with me, at least until in Beregost.

After reading Gorion’s note, it looks like there was no real plan or end destination–just acknowledgement that those people were chasing me. While it looks like I have trustworthly allies at the Friendly Arm, I am ashamed of how pitiful I am. I’d look to right myself back in Beregost and establish myself slightly there, prior to heading back up north to meet up with Khalid and Jaheira. I will pour my focus and energy into this!

Ran into Montaron and Xzar but did not want their company, and I was not prepared to head straight to Nashkel.

[Day 2]

Ran into "an old man" [Elminster] and he said himself that there are trustworthy people up at the Friendly Arm. But again, I want to establish myself a bit first, otherwise I do not know what their opinion of me will be.

Ran into Neera at Beregost in my first major battle outside of Candlekeep (and homicide)...two bandits and a Red Wizard of Thay. Luckily my Sleep spell took out the bandits. Between Imoen's arrows and my sling, and one magic missile, we were able to take out the wizard, then take out the sleeping bandits. I did get shot with an acid arrow, but survived--grateful for my familiar which imbues me with additional health and heartiness.

Decided to include Neera on the team for the time being. If my desire is to "establish" myself and build an identity of my own, then it seems like Neera is a well-enough trained wizard and two wizard companions are not to be trifled with. We will see…

Met Garrick--said we don't hire ourselves out as mercenaries...he slinked off.

Similar with Kagain and his task...

Ran into Firebead Elvenhair. He must have just arrived in Beregost earlier that day, but already news of Gorion's death is public, at least for those in and out of Candlekeep. He has a task so I will do my best to accomplish it for him.

[Day 3]

I accepted two adventurer’s quests in Beregost...kill Ogres south-southwest of Beregost for the Paladin at the Jovial Juggler, and investigate this murderer Bassilus. I may want to speak to the governor. Additionally, I’ll keep my eyes out for a gnoll with a stolen sword in High Hedge I may be able to return.

Met Kivan outside High Hedge but it didn't work out. ["We're adventurers looking for evil to smite" wasn't the appropriate response as the time, and that's the only dialogue option.]

[Day 5]

I've spent a bit of time in and around Beregost, I'm going to explore the rest of the temple area, the rest of High Hedge, then maybe head up to see Gorion's friends to finally see what they know? But I fear I will appear foolish and incapable to Gorion's friends, so still want to build my status a bit, and approach them very naturally once I have a solid footing in the inner-middle Sword Coast area.

Maybe I will help that Paladin and attempt to dispatch the Ogres in the wilderness? This is a very tough adventure, I would have to be willing to go back to Kivan to recruit him to help. But it may be worth it--Gorion's friends seem important and I want to make sure to impress them a bit. My ultimate goal, though, is to find them to get information about why Gorion was killed.

[Day 7]

Still around Beregost, hunting in High Hedge. I've realized now I should do my best to take out those Ogres for the Paladin, and THEN head to Friendly Arm. I had met Kivan previously, but this time let him know I was on the hunt for evil (Ogres), knowing that's what he was looking for. He said he was hunting bandits and had his own agenda, but would join with us. He's been working on it for months so it doesn't look like he's urgent one way or the other.

[Day 9] Ogre hunting south-southwest of Beregost...I'm a little far out, but really single-minded in accomplishing this task.

[Day 10] My reputation increased for killing Half-Ogres...going to rest up in Beregost, then finally head to the Friendly Arm with my somewhat well-established team of:

Candleblood - Level 1 Cleric/Level 1 Mage
Kivan - Level 2 Ranger
Imoen - Level 2 Thief
Neera - Level 1 Wild Mage

Baldr1314.jpg

[Day 11]

Saw Dorn in Friendly Arm the morning I arrived...had a rude exhange and that's it.

I also joined up with Khalid and Jaheira. Unfotunately, they had less than zero answers about why Gorion was killed and how I may or may not be involved personally. Instead, they are just looking into "local" concerns…the problems in Nashkel. I am glad they are willing to follow my lead and act as my protectors. I'm not sure yet if I would like to try to find Bassilus first, or head straight to Nashkel first.

Now that I'm heavy on warriors, I decided to release Kivan. We only journeyed together a few days, but we are amicable now. He looked to be staying at the Friendly Arm for some time. I just don't think we could necessarily afford to follow his revenge path so soon, as there are other things that draw our attention--specifically, headed down to Nashkel at the behest of Khalid and Jaheira, and then trying to locate Bassilus the Mad Cleric, for the town of Beregost.

Going to explore the area around the Friendly Arm, rest, then leave back south for Nashkel in the early morning.

Chapter 2

[Day 13]

Met Rasaad in Nashkel. Was friendly, but didn't wish for him to join me or continue the discussion past where it was.

Met Minsc too--I accidentally insulted him, and quite unfortunately he attacked. He actually killed Jaheira before we could cut him down ourselves. What a loon. I resurrected Jaheira, that is twice now--she is having difficulty staying alive.

Neira at the Nashkel Inn also killed Jaheira...that's three deaths now for her, sigh.

Met Edwin, but refused to help him kill the witch.

[Day 14]

Got into a bandit altercation where Dorn jumped to our assistance; I did not want to join with a Blackguard, but he was respectful, so he said he'd be back waiting at the Friendly Arm.

Eventually made our way to the Nashkel mine.

Chapter 3

[Day 15]

Early morning. We killed Mulahey and rescued Xan. I had him join us--I like him as a supplement mage, he is more serious and respectable than Neera, so it looks like I will split ways with her relatively soon.

Returning to Nashkel, we are a tired team. After just resurrecting Imoen, we were ambushed by Nimbul. He killed Neera AND Khalid, and Jaheira had a morale loss meltdown and ran uncontrollably around the town for a long time, inconsolable and mad. I lost a bit of respect for her here. Rasaad, not in our party, jumped to help and was effective in putting him down.

[Day 16]

After resting back in Nashkel, I parted ways with Neera. She said she would go to the Friendly Arm Inn.

[Day 17]

Early morning, Feldepost Inn. I see that Tranzig is here, and I know he is the contact for the larger bandit network--he is my "inside route" to figuring out that large mystery. I should probably confront him soon before he gets spooked that his identity may be revealed. However, I would also very much like to increase my standing in Beregost and find this Mad Cleric. I think that shall be my order of operation…

I found Tranzig. Unfortunately I tried to let him go, but he panicked and started attacking us again, so we had to defend ourselves lethally. But he pointed me up north to a roving camp that exists at various locations within the Woods of Sharp Teeth. If I'm to confront and defeat the bandit leaders, it will really show my value to the Sword Coast. However, in order to grow my reputation even further, I do want to hunt down this Mad Cleric before all else.

[Day 18]

So I'm out of Beregost, on the relatively directionless hunt for Bassilus. I do have a very thin lead that there's a madman out west of Nashkel, but that could be anyone. I'm going to start with scouting the greater Beregost/Central Sword Coast area.

My party right now is:

Candleblood - Level 2 Cleric/Level 1 Mage
Khalid - Level 2 Fighter
Jaheira - Level 2 Fighter/Level 2 Druid
Imoen - Level 3 Thief
Xan - Level 2 Enchanter

[Day 20]

I was able to find and kill Bassilus much quicker than I thought, within two days. And now I'm back in Beregost...being the hero of both Beregost and Nashkel is nice, but the real jewel of the Sword Coast is Baldur's Gate, and I will soon venture there to establish myself even further. Before entering the big city, I feel I must first gain a bit more status. I feel my group is neither powerful nor invulnerable enough to deal with the inevitable myriad of threats that will come with entering the city.

Therefore, I will look to conquer the Ulcaster ruins, and then maybe back down a bit to Nashkel to see if the Brage incident has come under control. I can still establish my reputation myself futher in Amn, as well. I'm not sure if that will open any more doors? If not, it will then be the journey north to Baldur's Gate.

Obviously the main thread is the bandit threat, and I know where to look. But my current, and necessary, focus will be to develop my party as very capable and renowned, and gain some reputation in the city so when I do eventually confront the bandits, its impact on my reputation will ring even louder. And if I were to infiltrate them, as Drizzt suggested, a man of Candleblood's nature would seem suspicious as a low-level bandit thug. Instead, I should come in from a position of power, maybe put on the airs of a corrupt noble, with something to offer the higher-ups in exchange for information about their motives and plan?

[Day 22]

West of Nashkel, looking for Brage to bring him back to Nashkel.

[Day 24]

Rumors of a woman being held hostage by Gnolls out "west" again...any chance this has something to do with Brage? Or is this just the rescue of a wholly different person?

[Day 28]

I rescued Dynaheir...this is the witch who Minsc was protecting? I had to slay him when he attacked, but Dyanheir was all the more willing to simply join up with her bodyguard's murderers. Would she do the same for my group, I wonder? She has an air of importance, but is a foreigner from Rasheman with no local connections on the Sword Coast to speak of. I have no need of another mage at this time, so I told her as much. She left her captivity from the Gnoll stronghold.

After clearing out the Gnoll stronghold, my thought will be to return to Nashkel. This was quite an adventure and accomplishment, so I would like to return to town. Unfortunately I have not found Brage yet, so I will still explore west of Nashkel after that, possibly mapping out a route that will take me north so I can stop by Beregost as well.

Long-term, barring possible turns of fate, I think I will try to explore Ulcaster to further gain fame, then attempt a grand entrance into Baldur's Gate. All of this will be to hopefully gain an audience with higher-ups in the Bandit Camp, to either infiltrate and defeat them in a manner that really makes me the hero of the Sword Coast.

[Day 38]

Finally found Brage out in the wilderness and brought him back. I'm building a strong reputation on the Sword Coast. Now it is back to Beregost and to raid the Ulcaster dungeon. Following that--Baldur's Gate.

Ran into Branwen at the Nashkel Carnival. Didn't really feed the need to buy the scroll or release the person frozen in stone.

[Day 44]

After Ulcaster, I met Ajantis on my trek north to Baldur's Gate. He was a paladin of Helm--and I'm a Cleric of Helm--and Waterdeep (where he is from) is a big city, so he seemed like a good companion to navigate my urban destination. However, I have Khalid and Jaheira from a utilitarian purpose, so no need of Ajantis right now. He's still up north of Friendly Arm.

Baldur’s Gate 1/Tales of the Sword Coast

[Day 51] Sitting in Nashkel, around 2pm. In the days past, we had discovered the entrance to Baldur’s Gate is currently closed. At some point we had visited Ulgoth’s Beard, retrieved Shandalar’s Cloak from the magical ice trap island, then headed all the way back south the Nashkel.

The bandit camp is my next main move, but I want to gain some more money and status first...or do I? I think I'll check out Gullykin on my way back up north, but then get to investigating the Woods of Sharp Teeth. The magic ice fortress was a good experience, and made me realize that I probably am prepared to take on the bandit leadership.

Baldr1337.jpg

[Day 56]

While battling the bandit leaders (necessarily, unfortunately), I accidentally killed Ender Sai in the main tent, who may have been a prominent prisoner or something of that nature. It was in my rush for Imoen to throw an explosive potion into the tent. This event will spread to the Sword Coast, and I’ll have lost MUCH reputation for it. Xan had been killed, and the explosive potion toss probably wouldn’t have happened if he were there…

I'm a simple man. I see a thread by @Selerel, I enjoy it! Your reports are so interesting to read! Good luck!
Fully agree. Except that I'm a Krogan, not a man.
And lawful neutral is the scariest alignment out there. There are few things more dangerous than someone following rules without questioning their sense or ethics. Or someone not caring about anything as long as no law is broken.
I'm very curious how you will approach that.

Chapter 4

[Day 57]

On my way back I encountered Viconia. I did not like the looks of the Flaming Fist "mercenary", and he clearly did not intend justice, only murder. I refused, thinking it the wise and heroic thing. Unfortunately he attacked and we had to put him down. But I had zero intention of having the Drow join me. Imagine what that would look like.

[Day 59]

Resurrected Xan and made my way back to the Friendly Arm. The plan now will be to head to Larswood to destroy any bandits there in a detour on my way to Beregost to sell my dozens of bandit scalps to Vai. After that, it will be Cloakwood to solve the Sword coast bandit issue.

[Day 63]

Saved Aldeth Sashenstar by talking sense into the Druids. Did not like how Jaheira took their side, but it worked out fine since Sashenstar had my gratitude...I need to make sure to visit the Merchant's League Estate when I’m finally in Baldur’s Gate.

Met Coran also. He had an opportunity for money--I initially was going to push through him, but figured I should hear him out. He was hired by the Mayor of Beregost, Keldath, it turns out. This is a job that should have been given to me! Before I know it, Coran is on the team and we are hunting wyverns. I absolutely believe this Wyvern quest is worth a bit of a detour to resolve.

[Day 64]

I don't need two thieves. Imoen, being more homey and immature, I dropped off. I don't necessarily like Coran much better, as I’d prefer to be respectable and not get into trouble as soon as I enter Baldur's Gate...but for now, we'll see. He should be fine to keep as a companion through Cloakwood.

[Day 67]

Met Eldoth in Cloakwood but didn't like his slimy scheme.

Also met Faldorn. I said I'd help her destroy the Iron Throne. Unfortunately I had no need of her in our party, so I left her there.

About to investigate the Shadow Druid fort for info, and then contiue my wyvern hunting.

[Day 72]

We slew the wyverns, collected the skulls, and made the trip back to Beregost and Kelddath to reap the rewards.

[Day 78]

Traveled BACK through Cloakwood, found the Iron Throne, and met Yeslick in the Cloakwood mines. He may or may not have convinced me to flood the mines...we'll see.

Chapter 5

[Day 78 Continued]

I defeated Davaeorn and am now looking to enter Baldur's Gate to investigate the Iron Throne further. I have opted for the time being to NOT flood the mines, recognizing that the iron production it provides may actually be useful in the right hands.

[Day 83]

Baldur's Gate is open and I am ready to enter and begin to make of myself something greater in the world, once I'm on this bigger stage.

[Day 85]

Met Scar, he suggested I infiltrate the Seven Suns to see what is going on. I thought it not a good idea to launch immediately into this, but first establish a foothold in the city, meet some people, then visit the trading company once having established an identity and believable purpose, such as investments. But at least I have a strong direction to follow.

Met Quayle but didn't need him. "Takest thou a hike".

Entered Baldur's Gate. Elminster vouched for Scar, which is nice. My focus will be to deliver the information to Scar as soon as possible...but will still need to establish myself a bit as described above.

I may have gotten into hot water with the Thieve's Guild? I met with Altos, I refused his task, he threatened my life, I accepted...he gave me ten days. I have no intention of doing any Thieves’ Guild task--and may actually try to warn his daughters. Will this bring me into conflic with Altos?

[Day 86]

More exploration of Baldur’s Gate. Saw Yeslick in Jopalin's Tavern. That's where he ended up, I guess.

Met Tiax, rebuffed him.

[Day 87]

AM. Want to find Shandalar's daughters and warn them about the plot. Then, secondly, I'm not entirely sure I buy Lothander's story, but it does appear he is ensalved to the Iron Throne and could provide useful information, so I will attempt to retrieve the Scroll of Geas Removal for the time being. After that, continued exploration of the city before zeroing in on the Seven Suns.

[Day 88]

Went to Oberan's estate to warn Shandalar's daughters, but backfired spectacularly as I got accused of the very thing I wanted to warn them about--and unsuccessfully tried to bribe the Flaming Fist into forgetting about it, and lost reputation that way. So all in all, not a great move on my part and upset about it. That being said, the Flaming Fist has agents looking for my party, trying to apprehend or even kill me, so best so steer clear of central BG for the time being. This has been an awful disaster.

Thinking I will check in with Alatos when I can find the time, this whole thing went sideways and I want my relationship with him canceled, so to speak.

Let go of Xan. He seems to be staying at the Three Old Kegs in Northern Baldur’s Gate, so I can always pick him up again if need be. He had a handful of useful spells, and I'm sure he would have become MORE useful as time went on, but right now he does indeed seem like dead weight.

[Day 89]

I'm staying at Three Old Kegs, but I reconsidered my letting go of Xan after I slept on it. I think the presence of another mage increases my status, and as he gains experience he’ll be doubly useful for higher level spellcasting. And besides, even if he runs out of useful spells for some encounters, I do really need someone to burn through the magical wands, which are stacking up. It's really the rest of the my party--Jaheira, Khalid, Coran--who seem a little uncouth. But they are loyal friends and effective companions, and I'm not sure how to cut ties with any of them...so the journey continues on with our party of five.

I checked out the Hall of Wonders which was very interesting. The Flaming Fist “in general” is not looking for me, but there are still a handful of aggressive, annoying Enforcers in central part of the city that still look to accost me whenever I am in the area. I'm not sure what I can do–we can force some "honorable" battle that I can concoct, and then donate to the temple to ease minds about the slaying? It's a tough route to go, but we'll see how my patience wears.

[Day 90]

Think I will head to Seven Suns this morning and try to meet Jhasso. The "Arkion and Nemphre" quest seems the only one that may seem worthwhile–can I somehow resolve their dispute and gain fame that way?--but I'm not sure how to start.

After busting the Seven Suns Doppelgangers, Scar gave me another job to investigate the sewers and see if I can solve a murder that's been going on. I had the opportunity to ask about the Iron Throne, but in my rush to impress Scar I simply complied with his offer for more work. Once this is set, maybe I should start asking about the Iron Throne?

I met Brielbara, she said her daughter, with Coran, out of wedlock, is under the foul spell of Yago. I will have to retrieve the spellbook to get it...although I'm not sure if I can pickpocket. Harumph. I almost wish I didn't accept this quest, but I guess it's the right thing to do, for Coran and his kid. I don't know how well respected a mage that Yago is (probably not since he's killing children and spends his time in the Low Lantern?) but I'm looking to stir the spot as little as possible in any case.

I decided to dump Coran after some additional thought. This whole situation with the child and Yago is a huge embarrassment for someone of my stature...I will go back and seek out Imoen. This changes my plans a bit, but still want to help out Scar.

Oh Helm: I checked out the Splurging Surgeon because I hadn't earlier. I let Brielbara know I wasn't going to be helping her. I thought the directness would be a favor for her...but instead she attacked. I was forced into killing her, and suffered a major reputation loss.

[Day 91]

Recruited Imoen. She was glad to be back. After all of the terrible low-brow drama with Coran, Imoen is a welcome upgrade.

Headed down to Beregost for some business.

[Day 94]

4PM. Returned to Baldur’s Gate. Three Old Kegs. Killed the Ogre Mage in the sewers, and finally realized the Grand Duke Eltan is looking to infiltrate the Iron Throne as well. I'm sure I have made a splash in the city, in the week and a half or so I've been here. But is this a time for subterfuge? I want to resolve this conflict with the Iron Throne as soon as possible, but wondering about the most effective way to do so. I've probably been watched by Iron Throne spies since I came to the city and no doubt they are expecting me to attack; maybe I should slip out for a few days, then return in the middle of the night to enter their facility?

[Day 95]

Yes–stopped by Ulgoth's Beard, bought some spells and the Cloak of Displacement, and am continuing on. Will trek around the Northeast wilderness, clearing the area of remaining bandit threats, and maybe even check on Durlag's Tower or the surrounding area? I only want to be gone a week at most. I also asked about Mendas again about his island...maybe I will ask about the Merchant's League at some point when I get back, more as a knowledge-gaining measure? I do not intend to betray them in any way.

[Day 98]

Finally met Shar-Teel, but I told her I didn't have time for her stupidity.

[Day 99]

7AM. I just rested outside of Durlag's Tower. I'm checking out this massive fortress...one day I should come back to conquer. I think I will check out the outside and maybe what is right inside the entrance this morning, before turning my party back towards the city and the Iron Throne. I will rest and trade at the Friendly Arm on my way back up, and time my entrance into the city to be late at night when my Iron Throne "infiltration" will be most effective.

[Day 102]

4AM. I hastily re-entered the city after a week absense, spent mostly off the grid in the eastern wilds. I am about to storm the Iron Throne headquarters.

Chapter 6

[Day 104]

Candlekeep. I never even met Rieltar or Brunos, but I got framed for their murder. I was trying to visit Tethtoril on the sixth floor first before seeing the Iron Throne on the third, but apparently I was already framed by then. I did kill that Doppelganger, but who knows. From Gorion's letter to me, I realize now that Bhaal is my father? I am going to take these emotions and bottle them up for now, and not really think about it–what use could it have?

Chapter 7

[Day 106]

1AM. I escaped Candlekeep, and will soon return to Baldur’s Gate to plead my case for innocence. This has been another nightmare like three months ago when Gorion was murdered and I became homeless in an instant. It incenses me that I have been framed like this, but the Flaming Fist is probably crawling the Coast Way, so I decided to duck south for a bit–not get too close to Amn to arouse more suspicion that I'm working with them–but to check out the Seafarer's Lighthouse area, then poke my head around Beregost after a few days to a week or so.

[Day 110]

Gonna skulk around the lighthouse area for a few days before heading back up the Baldur’s Gate by way of Beregost.

Met Safana but turned her down.

[Day 111]

Stayed in the Lighthouse area for about a day. On the way out I ran into Safana again and let her know that we, the Party of Candleblood, have plundered the cave already. She amicably asked to join me. On second meeting, now without the rush to complete a quest for her, I realize she is a much more professional thief than Imoen, who I've never been entirely thrilled with. Also, I realize she has connections with important foreign nobles, my interest is absolutely peaked. I believe I will drop Imoen back off in Beregost.

[Day 114]

Left Imoen at Feldepost's in Beregost...she was alright, if disappointed.

[Day 115]

Safana had been murdered cold heartedly by Angelo and it set off a rapid series of events that led to me exposing Sarevok, saving Eltan, and basically becoming the hero. Sarevok fled to the Undercity where he seems to wait to make his final stand. Belt urges me to go and kill him, and it seems like I will one day have to do that...but until then, my name is cleared and I am somewhat of a hero around the city. Cleaning up the mess of enemies in the sewers and catacombs can be passed to the Flaming Fist, no?

[Day 116]

As the hero, my goals today are to meet with big players in the city, such as Eltan, the Harbormaster, the Iron Throne HQ, the Silvershield estate, and visiting my equipment stash. After that, I think I will still continue to look out for Arkion and Nemphre. Then, I will head out for a week or two by way of Ulgoth's Beard, to check out Durlag's Tower, and Amn (Nashkel) in general, if I decide to take the long way around. It's all about gaining power and fame.

At some point I'll return to Baldur’s Gate [and see that Sarevok is STILL holed up in the Undercity, and realize my destiny takes me through him].

[Day 117]

9AM. Could not find Arkion without breaking into houses (which I definitely won't do)...I may go check with Nemphre one more time. And strangely, the news of Sarevok's exposure has not yet made it to the streets.

8PM. About to set out for Ulgoth's Beard, mainly to book a potential tour (not that important) and to buy and scribe fourth and fifth level spells, then Nashkel/Amn, then back up to Durlag's Tower to meet the tour group. I want to investigate and conquer this largest dungeon on the Sword Coast. As I wrote above, with Sarevok exposed and on the run, I feel I have accomplished what I had set out to do. As time goes on, it may dawn on me the only way for the city to truly move forward is for me to confront him. His plans to gain political power have exploded, but he still may be pulling strings from the Undercity, sewing more and more chaos and rumors. But even if this is the case, I still should make sure my party is powerful enough to stop this man, once and for all.

I also have not yet come to grips with my true heritage, I had boxed off those emotions while I single-mindedly tried to reclaim my reputation. I still am not sure I'm ready to confront this head on, the week or two out of the city and dive into Durlag's Tower may give me the focus I need to confront my true nature...AND Sarevok.

Before I leave town--do I want Coran back? While I wasn't a fan of his shenanigans, now that I have the trust of the surviving Grand Dukes, and my reputation is firmly established, AND I will be leaving the city for some time...I will say, his thieving skills and archery skills are way beyond what Safana brings to the table, and she isn't necessarily any less shady. Her connection to foreign nobles doesn’t seem to bear much fruit in the foreseeable future.

So I think it makes sense to bring him, and actually drop Safana...I did slay the mother of Coran’s child in an altercation that wasn't entirely our fault, but I don't know if that will have an effect. Her involvement is really why we parted ways in the first place.

Yes--recruited Coran, left Safana outside of the Blushing Mermaid.

[Day 122]

In Nashkel. Local artist Prism is STILL missing? Maybe I should try to just find him to cement my hero status in Amn, as well.

[Day 123]

Just rested, now will make the trip to Durlag’s Tower. I plan to explore the dungeon, and hopefully gain experience and powerful equipment..Then must I slay Sarevok to move forward in life?

[Day 126]

Just turned midnight. The Durlag’s Tower tour turned horrific. I cleared out the top of the tower, rested, and now will make my way down into the depths. My party is a powerful band of respected adventurers, I intend to both better ourselves in preparation of a confrontation with Sarevok, and to reap fame and profit from infiltrating and weeding out whatever death and great evil resides here.

Attempting the lower levels of Durlag's Tower with:

Candleblood - Level 7 Cleric/Level 7 Mage
Khalid - Level 7 Fighter
Jaheira - Level 6 Fighter/Level 8 Druid
Coran - Level 5 Fighter/Level 6 Thief
Xan - Level 8 Enchanter

[Day 127]

Durlag’s Tower dungeon crawl continues.

[Day 135]

Entered Ulgoth's Beard after taking care of the Demon Knight at the bottom of Durlag’s Tower, but the Cultists attacked me. I would have destroyed them all, but Xan was tired and Coran was actually killed. On slowing down and speaking to the Dwarf at the Inn, I realized I will have to figh the tanar'ri I've heard about, with its death gaze. I will need Coran for that...so hopefully I will have time, a couple days, to run down to Friendly Arm to resurrect Coran, and hurry back. Baldur’s Gate may have been quicker trip for the resurrection, but I dare not make my "triumphant" return with a broken, half-dead party.

[Day 137] Return to Baldur’s Gate to see how things are going. Been gone approximately 2-3 weeks? It does appear everyone knows that Sarevok was a villain and treacherous to the city.

My final battle against Sarevok with:

Candleblood - Level 7 Cleric/Level 7 Mage
Khalid - Level 8 Fighter
Jaheira - Level 7 Fighter/Level 8 Druid
Coran - Level 7 Fighter/Level 7 Thief
Xan - Level 9 Enchanter

Siege of Dragonspear

[Day 148]

Clearing out the last of Sarevok's followers at the request of the Dukes. Been at this for a week or so. All companions are speaking about moving on.

Khalid: "I can't wait to be all done with this, the danger is starting to wear on me"
Jaheira: "When this is over, Khalid and I will find quality time together"
Coran: "We can all use a good long rest after this...or a good long romp"
Xan: "I've endured your idiosyncracies long enough"

[Day 163]

Everyone's left my party, Imoen was almost assassinated. I am supposed to remember Skie, Silvershield's daughter? I guess I must have met her in these past few weeks. She dangled some info about how Caelar may be a Bhaalspawn? Hmph...

Spoke to the Dukes and agreed to lead the war party.

[Day 164]

The next morning...Corwin tells me about Garrick, Safana and Coran, Minsc and Dynaheir, Rasaad, and Tiax.

Met Minsc (and Dynaheir) at the Three Old Kegs. Even though the Dukes thought I should speak to them, Minsc was offputting, and I could not help but think of our terrible, violent past. I moved along, I have no need for these two.

Saw Garrick at the Elfsong...he tried to hire me as a mercenary, many months ago, and he likely didn't remember. I really didn't want anything to do with him after seeing him slinking around the tavern.

Coran did not want to travel to Dragonspear with me, shame. I will most likely need a thief...so I recruited Safana. She will suffice...family connections to nobles, and I'll keep her quiet around important people. I told her we were leaving on the morrow.

While checking out the Flaming Fist, I ran into Tiax. No interest there, either.

Tried to recruit Rasaad. I've had an amicable relationship with him, since he saved me in my fight against Nimbul in Nashkel all those months ago. He seems organized and respectable, also. Unfortunately, he was too involved in his own current Monk order problems...

[Day 165]

I saw Viconia the Drow will be joining us, I talked to her and Dynaheir outside the Ducal palace shortly before leaving...

Chapter 8

[Day 170]

Matched to the Coast Way Crossing. Corwin joined the group--I could use a warrior type, and a Captain of the Flaming Fist is a good, respectable ally to have. She will have to focus on more melee-oriented combat in the time I have her in my party.

Baldr1399.jpg

I ran into Edwin. He had good information about Caelar...and since he was ready to join, it almost seems as though he can fill in the Xan role---the specialist mage that acts as a complement to my main spellcasting. I had a brief run-in with him before down in Naskhel but barely remember that at this point. He is a Red Wizard of Thay, a respectable mage group, so I believe his joining my party will only add prestige and respect. However, I enventually realized his evil nature will be at odds with my generally heroic accomplishments, so I ultimately had to decline.

[Day 171]

Ran into Baeloth and M'Khiin. Freed M'Khiin but sent them both on their way. Didn't want to burden the Flaming Fist with crazy Baeloth, or be seen with some goblin shaman.

Chapter 9

[Day 176]

Traveled up to the Troll Claw Woods, and recruited Rasaad, as I need another fighter type. I still don't know I have that armored melee tank I need, but we'll see.

[Day 177]

About 5PM...I'm clearing out the Troll Claw Woods and scouting the path ahead. Should be able to finish this out before nightfall, then potentially head up to scout out Bridgefort, either overnight or the next day.

Ran into Jaheira, and as uncouth as she is, had her re-join my adventuring party. It was nice to see a familiar, loyal friend, and I need a good warrior for my party. Sent Voghlin on his way, of course...

[Day 180]

I conquered the cultists and other evil filth in the Temple of Bhaal and ingratiated myself into the Crusader siege camp. I scouted around and seemed to get as much information as I could. Now I will enter Bridgefort as a hero with the Wardstone I was able to procure...I met Dorn here at some point, but didn't release him.

[Day 181]

1AM. I will rest, then think on how I'm going to break the siege. I decide: I'm going to crush them. A big, rousing victory as I march to the Coalition Camp will be the entrance we want to make. The victory can be a symbol to send to the rest of the Coaltion AND the Crusader army. Besides, the Crusade eventually will have to be conquered, and defeating a large contingent now can only help.

Baldr1407.jpg

I crushed the Crusader camp at Bridgefort by 8PM. I notified Khalid and then the Flaming Fist army, then attacked from the inside out. Safana started with backstabbing Vichard (he was cut into pieces by the force of the blow), and I cast Web and Cloudkill. It wasn't the cleanest of battles, and Corwin died while taking the bridge.

Eventually, I asked Khalid for his company and counsel.

[Day 182]

I had to make my way back to Troll Claw Woods to the Flaming Fist camp proper, in order to have Corwin resurrected. My party is a bit too full now--myself, Safana the necessary annoyance, and Corwin the Flaming Fist Commander are all requirements. Khalid, being the Commander of the Bridgefort defence, is a solid ally to have as I go marching to greet the Coalition. I would potentially part from Jaheira, but she must stay with Khalid, and her Harper connections are probably good for us. And while I've been enjoying the Sun Soul Monk--that leaves Rasaad as an unnecessary addition here. I will regret to part ways with him, but it's necessary for the party.

Chapter 10

[Day 199]

Seeing Dragonspear for the first time. I'm supposed to be looking for Skie too...sigh. This is enroute to finding the secret entrance, which must be in the Underground river area.

[Day 200]

5pm, exploring Underground River area. Even Khalid is saying terrible things to Safana...maybe she isn't best for the group after all, and she is getting on my nerves. I may opoen up a dialog with Glint, next time I return to camp...we'll see.

[Day 203]

7AM, I am still exploring the underground caverns in search of a weakness to Dragonspear castle. They believe we’re a visting Crusader group and have full access to the operation. I have not yet entered the castle proper, but will do that after exploring Kanaglym for possible use, treasure, and knowledge.

[Day 204]

1AM. I tried to explore Kanaglym, but got turned around by an aggressive ghost dragon and a large contingent of evil mages. I was able to escape with my party's lives, and I'm not sure if I have enough motivation to return--more of a distraction to the greater goal here--I had to rest for the better part of the day (within the caves themselves), and am now more than ready to see what I can learn from inside Dragonspear itself...

3AM. I was able to poison the water and foodstuffs, but was quickly found out by Hephernaan and his Crusader minions. I was pushed out of the basement of the castle, but seem so far to be able to elude detection from the operation down in the warrens and caverns.

7PM. I'm back at the Coalition Camp re-organizing after this somewhat chaotic mission conclusion. As stated above, I'm going to talk to Glint now to replace Safana.
